Soft In The Back, Scratchy In The Front
The Midnight Affair Chemise by Seven ‘til Midnight is an inexpensive, attractive lingerie piece. The major problem I had with the outfit is that the lace at the front of the chemise and the neckband really irritated my skin. The outfit looks lovely on, but I'm the type to need comfort as well. This didn't work well for me because of this, but maybe it'll work better for you.

Pros
stretchy, machine washable, attractive, good price.
Cons
lace material is a bit coarse making it uncomfortable to wear.
The Midnight Affair Chemise by Seven ‘til Midnight is available in one-size-fits-most and plus size. I wear a size XL so I purchased the plus size. It’s usually difficult for me to choose between the two size options because sometimes the one-size is too small, and sometimes the plus size is too large. I opted for the plus size because I’d rather the chance of a bit of room in the outfit instead of the chance of it being uncomfortably tight.
The outfit arrived in a cardboard package. The front of the packaging states the company name, size, colour, and has a photo of a model wearing the outfit. The back of the packaging has a back view of the model wearing the outfit, states the included contents of the package, and the same information as the front. I don’t find the packaging to be ideal for storing the outfit when it’s not being worn. I prefer to keep my outfit in my lingerie drawer.
Inside of the packaging, the outfit is wrapped around a thin piece of cardboard. The outfit consists of three pieces: the neckband, the chemise, and the g-string. The outfit is 90% nylon and 10% spandex. The outfit is extremely stretchy. I’ve taken measurements of the outfit laying flat, unstretched. If you need additional measurements, please send me a message and I can get them for you.
G-string
Waistband unstretched: 17 inches
Waistband stretched as much as I could: 38 inches
Widest part of material that covers front area: 6 inches
Liner length: 2 ¼ inches
Neckband
Ribbon tie length: 9 ¾ inches each
Lace width: 8 ¾ inches
Lace length: 2 inches
Chemise
Halter ribbon ties length: 19 ½ inches each
Length of chemise (armpit to bottom): 21 ½ inches
Chest (armpit to armpit): 16 ½ inches
Cup length: 6 inches
Cup width: 6 ½ inches
The front of the chemise is lace with a floral pattern. The neckband matches the front of the chemise. The back of the chemise is a soft mesh. The front of the g-string matches the mesh material at the back of the chemise. The entire outfit is black in colour and both front and back of the chemise is sheer.
At the top centre of the chemise (below the cups), there are three ribbon pieces. These pieces are not stretchy. From the top ribbon to the very bottom of this open area, the gap measures approximately 4 ½ inches. The chest does not have any padding or underwire. I wear a C cup and the cups fit me nicely though there is definitely room for a size or two up. I wouldn’t recommend the plus size for anyone below a C cup because the chest may appear baggy on you.
Attached to the top of each cup, there is a thin ( ½ inch) ribbon. The ribbon ties behind the neck to hold the top up. The ribbon halter ties are the only closures to the chemise. To put the chemise on, just pull over your head, down your body, and than tie the ribbons behind your neck. The back of the chemise has 3 elastic bands at the top centre. This area is approximately 3 inches in length and 6 inches wide unstretched. I’m 5’6 and the chemise is a great length for me. It covers my bum and there is no bum cheek hanging out the bottom.
The neckband is a thick piece of lace with 2 ribbon ties on each side. The ribbons tie together at the back of your neck as the closure. The ribbon ties are quite long (see measurements above). I was able to wear the neckband with lots of room to spare. I measured my neck and the circumference is 13 ¾ inches. The issue with the neckband that I had was that the lace material feels a bit coarse. When wearing the neckband, the lace rubbed against my skin and did irritate it quite a bit.

Experience
...continued
The mesh material to the g-string and back of the chemise was so soft and lovely. Sadly, I cannot say the same about the front of the chemise and the neckband. I found the material to make my skin feel itchy while I wore it. The front of the chemise bothered me the most in my nipples. It’s not the most uncomfortable material I have encountered, but it’s also not a soft lace either.
The care tag states that the outfit should be machine washed in cold water and line dried. The outfit should not be bleached.
Overall, I’ve decided to give the outfit a 3 out of 5. It’s a nice outfit but I’ve deducted two stars for how uncomfortable it was (for me) while I was wearing it. It would have been nice if they used a softer lace, or if the material to the neckband and front of chemise was the same material as the back of the outfit. This outfit would be better for those who can handle itchy, coarse materials in their lingerie.

Follow-up commentary
2 months after original review
I haven't worn the chemise since the review because I have lingerie that is much more comfortable against the skin. It's sad that I am uncomfortable in it because I think that the outfit itself is pretty. I have the outfit sitting in a lingerie drawer but I'm not exactly sure why since I probably won't end up wearing it again. Such a disappointment.
