Shimmer dress surprised me.
I wasn't expecting a whole lot from this dress, but I was pleasantly surprised! This dress doesn't fit my breasts perfectly, but it does make me feel sexy. I love that the front of this dress covers my stomach (which tends to be my biggest insecurity), but that it still manages to show off my figure. I also adore the sexy back on this dress!

Pros
Sexy, Figure flattering, Sexy back, Comfortable
Cons
Not suitable for public wear, No plus sizes, Metal accents feel cheap, Cups are a little small
For my free assignment this month, I decided to try an item that I wouldn't otherwise buy. Because I'm me, I immediately began looking through the available lingerie pieces. I loved parts of this item in the photo, but I didn't think it be all that great in person. Still, the sexy back stood out so much to me, that I just had to have it. I was able to select it as a free assignment and, while it's not my favorite piece of lingerie, I am glad to have it in my collection.
The Basics:
The shimmer "dress" is made by Escante. It comes packaged with a black g-string. The fact that they call this a dress seems to imply that it's something that you could wear in public. It's not -- unless you're incredibly daring, and even then, you're going to want to pair it with leggings or opaque tights for public use. It does, however, make a very sexy bedroom dress.
Material & Care:
Both items of this set are made out of 94% Polyester and 6% Elastane -- exclusive of the decoration.
The dress itself is made of a silvery shimmer material, and then a black matte material. The shimmer material is found on the entire front, and on lower portion of the sides and the back. The shimmer material is opaque, so it will provide the wearer with some coverage. The material here also feels a little grainy to the touch, due to all of the glitter. The glitter is securely attached to the dress though -- I haven't noticed it shedding all over the place. The shimmer fabric is also stretchy. The cups, which are covered in the shimmer material, are significantly less stretchy than the rest of the material, due to the molded style.
The shimmer material is contrasted by a matte fabric. The black matte material is found on the sides (where it does dip in under the cups a little), and on the upper portion of the back. This material feels silky and soft to the touch. It is also very stretchy. The g-string is made out of the same material as the matte fabric.
The interior of the dress is all made of black material, and it's not irritating against the skin at all.
To care for this dress, you're going to want to hand wash it in cold water. You're then going to want to allow it to line dry. Do not wring, or twist this piece. Also, remember, you should only use bleach, or iron it, when absolutely needed.
Sizing:
This dress is available in three sizes: small, medium, and large. I went with the large.
According to the size chart, a large should fit someone with the following measurements:
Cups: C-D
Bust: 36-38"
Waist: 32-34"
Hips: 34-36"
I wear a 34d bra, and have a 32" waist. My hips measure 40". This dress fits me decently, despite the fact that my hips are a fair bit larger than the size chart recommends. I would say that the dress can definitely fit up to a 34" waist, and it might even be able to fit up to a 41" hip measurement -- perhaps even a little larger than that. For cup size, however... this dress is definitely geared towards those with smaller breasts. I'd say that you should be no larger than a small C to really fit properly. My D cups just barely fit, and I look like I'm going to pop out of the top. As I wear this as a bedroom dress, popping out isn't a huge deal -- my guy actually loves the look.
As for length? I am 5'6", and this dress only just covers my ass.
The g-string fits my 40" hips well, too.

Experience
Design:
This dress has an interesting design, that I find to be very figure flattering.
Let's begin with the front of the dress. The front of the dress features very lightly padded, molded cups with underwire. This means that the dress actually offers a bit of bust support. Going downward, the front of the dress is pretty plain; it's made completely of the shimmer fabric. The shimmer fabric does cover, but it's meant to cling, so it's going to display your curves. Still, the front of the dress is rather modest for a lingerie piece.
Then there are the straps. The straps are not removable, but they are adjustable. The straps feature one long silver, spiral-y sort of bead (one on each strap).
The sides of this piece are the solid black. I love the placement of the black strips here, as it helps hide the little bit of love handles that I have.
Now, flipping it around. The bottom of the dress is the shimmer fabric, and it's meant to cover your ass. If you have a bigger ass, you might find that if you pull it down to cover the lower portion of your bum, your crack will show. On the other hand, if you pull it up to cover your crack, your ass might peek out of the bottom of it. That's what I have happen -- but then, I am quite curvy.
Going upward on the back, there's the area where the two sides meet. This area is where the little "o" ring is. The o-ring looks like it features little rhinestones in the photos, but in reality it does not -- it's just the metal. It's still sexy, though.
Above the little ring, there's the lacing, which is done with black ribbon. The lacing is completely nonadjustable. The lacing weaves through little scalloped edges, which is very sexy.
Lastly, there is the g-string, which is your basic g-string. It's solid black, and it does feature a pantyliner.
Quality:
The overall quality of this piece is quite impressive. The fabric feels durable, and the seams are nicely sewn. I also didn't notice a single loose thread. The little metal accents (the ring found on the back, and the metal bead that's found on each strap) do feel very, very cheap, though.
