Sexy, but it didn't live up to my expectations.

The idea behind this dress is a good one, but it just wasn't put together right. It's not a completely terrible dress, but it's just not as high quality as the other wetlook items. If you can get it on sale, it'll be worth it, but otherwise... I'd say go with one of the other wetlook dresses.

extremely useful review
I am completely addicted to Coquette's Darque line. I have several of the dresses, and a few other pieces, as well. When I saw this dress, it made perfect sense that I add it to my growing collection. Now that I have it... well, it's okay. It's a sexy dress, but it's certainly flawed. It also doesn't seem to be as well made as the other Darque collection items that I've tried.

Basics:
This dress is made by Coquette. It's available only in black, and it does not come with any undergarments.

The dress is reasonably priced at $41.99, though I, personally, don't think that the dress is worth it.

Material & Care:
The dress is made out of 80% Nylon and 20% Spandex, exclusive of the trim.

The entire dress reminds me of swimsuit material. The outside of the fabric is shiny and smooth, like most of the wetlook items. It does feel a lot cheaper to the touch, though. I'm not sure what it is, as the material is technically the same on all the wetlook items... this one just doesn't feel like it's as high quality as the other pieces.

The inside of the dress is matte in color, and it's a bit softer. The fabric is very breathable, so it is comfortable to wear. The material is also very stretchy.

It should be noted that this material wrinkles horribly, and you can't iron it... So... hang the dress up to try and prevent wrinkles.

To care for this dress, you should hand wash it, and then allow it to line dry.

Sizing:
Coquette has made this dress available in the following sizes: S, M, L, XL, and 1X/2X. I purchased the large.

According to the size chart, a large should fit someone with the following measurements:
Cups: C
Bust: 38-40"
Waist: 30-32"
Hips: 40-42"

I have a 32" waist, and 40" hips. I wear a 34d bra.

This dress fits me well -- in fact, I would even say that I could've sized down, due to how stretchy the dress is. I would suggest sizing down if you are on the lower end of the size chart, as this dress is designed to cling to your figure. If you buy a size that's too large, you're just going to find that the dress hangs awkwardly.

Length wise, the dress is way too short to wear in public. It only just barely covers my ass, and it tends to ride up. So, I will not be wearing htis in public without leggings underneath it.

Design:
This idea behind the design is very sexy. This dress is one piece, and it's designed to slip over your head, however you'd think there was more to it just from looking at it. For instance, the front of the dress makes it appear almost as though it's a skirt and a top, as opposed to one dress. All of the hook closures also make it appear that you'd need to unfasten it to slip into it -- but you don't have to, it's stretchy enough that you can just slip it on.

The back of the dress is basic black. There's nothing more to that area. The front of the dress, however, features silver hook and eye closures that go down the dress. These hook and eye closures start right at the top, and they continue all the way down to the waistband. Then, you have what's meant to look like a belt. The belt is really just a strip of fabric with buckle on it. It's not removable, and it is not adjustable. Honestly, I kind of hate the belt. It looks cheap, and unless the dress fits you snugly, the belt just hangs. The dress doesn't fit me snugly, and the belt ends up sorting flipping over, so that the unfinished side is shown. It's not attractive.

Now, there's the lower half the dress. Again, it's basic. There are just 7 hook and eye closures on each side of the skirt (on the front) -- and that's about it.

The hook and eye closures are sexy, but they kind of irritate my skin. Also, there is no modesty panel, so your skin will show where the closure settings are.

The straps on this dress are also not removable, or adjustable -- which is a shame.

Quality:
The quality of this dress is lacking. The "belt" looks and feels cheap -- and, actually, the little metal eyelet broke off of it before I even had the chance to wear the dress once. The straps are also poorly sewn. When you throw in the fact that this dress just feels cheap, I'm a little disappointed.
Experience
This dress is sexy in theory, but the quality was a complete flop. I really wanted to love it as I love most of the other wetlook pieces, but... this dress just irritates me. Good try, Coquette, but maybe you kind of dropped the ball on this one.
Follow-up commentary
I've kept this dress in hopes that I would one day love it, but alas... every time I look at it, I find myself thinking that it is the most unattractive, shapeless garment I have ever owned. It does not make me look sexy, and more importantly, it doesn't make me feel sexy.

I usually model my EF purchases for my boyfriend, and usually, he loves them all. This one? He asked me to never wear it again; not because he didn't think it looked good, but because he could tell that I felt unattractive in it. He did later say that he also thought that the piece was very poorly designed.
