Sexy AND comfortable? Score!
This is one of the most comfortable lingerie sets I've come across that is also quite sexy. The bust fit and support leave something to be desired, but I still like it a lot.

Pros
Super comfortable, well made, enough stretch to fit a lot of different bodies
Cons
Not enough support for larger chest, panties too large
The Sexy Pinstripe Chemise Set by Dream Girl has been at the top of my wish list for weeks now, so I was thrilled to finally get to try it out!
Packaging: My chemise set arrived wrapped in pink tissue paper and enclosed in a plastic bag inside that - a nice step up from the last lingerie item I ordered which was just sort of stuck in the box with nothing to protect it. There is a tag attached to the chemise with a pic of a model in the outfit; I like the one on the tag a lot more than the one pictured on the site who reminds me of Mariah Carey, but that has nothing to do with anything so I'll move on. Just sayin'.
Material: This set is constructed of 90% Polyester and 10% Spandex. It is very smooth, soft, stretchy, and clingy. The tags suggest hand wash and line dry for care.
Design and Construction: This set seems pretty well put together - the seams are straight and well-sewn, there were no fraying threads, and it didn't have that cheap feel of lingerie that will fall apart if you look at it funny. The straps on the panties do seem a little weak as if they might not hold up especially well over time.
The panties are plain pinstripes in the front and decorated with three rows of pink lace ruffles in the back, and they are lined in the crotch. Although the tag is on the ruffled side, I think that you could probably reverse these if you wanted to have the smaller part at the back and more coverage in the front.
The chemise top features the same lace as the panties in two rows at the top of the cups and has an underwire sewn in but no "bra band" type of material anywhere else, so the wire is the only thing offering support, if that makes sense. There is a little pink bow between the "bra" cups and a black bead with a sparkly jewel center below the bow. For me, the combo of bow AND bead is a little odd - the bead looks like it is just randomly hanging out between your breasts. I mean, not a bad place to hang out, but still. I will probably be snipping this off. (Um, I take that back. It fell off as I was taking measurements for the review. Thanks for saving me the work, poorly attached bead!)
Size and Fit:
I found it a little odd that the available sizes for this piece jump from Large to 1X/2X with no XL in between. This made me worry a little about the fit since I tend to wear an XL on top (Hellooooo, boobs!) but a large on bottom (size 7 panties), so I felt like it was a choice between a too tight top or droopy drawers. I decided to go with the 1X/2X to err on the side of too much room. Here is the info for the two sizes I was stuck between:
Large Size 10 - 14 C - D Bust 36 - 38 Waist 28 - 32 Hips 38 - 40 Weight: 140 - 150
1X/2X Size 16 - 18 D - DD Bust 40 - 48 Waist 36 - 40 Hips 42 - 48 Weight: 165 - 225
Measurments for the other sizes are available by clicking here.
I'm a size 14 (sometimes 12), 38D (a large D cup, close to DD but not quite), 37" waist, 41" hips, 170-175 lbs depending upon that week's Oreo consumption, and 5'11" tall.
The back of the chemise measures 20" long, and it is almost 19" wide at the top. The straps are adjustable and measure 9" at their shortest or 18" at the longest, but even from there you could get a few extra inches in length from the stretchiness of the straps.
The cups of the chemise measure about 6 1/2" from the lace top to the underwire, so you don't have to worry about your nipples popping out of the top unless you really want them to.
The panties measure 15 and a half inches across at the waistband when lying flat and 9" from top to bottom (also while flat).

Experience
When it comes to fit, this turned out to be just okay. The panties are definitely too big for me. They aren't falling off and would be fine to wear for a while, but they're way too loose and high-rise to wear for any real length of time.
Due to my height, the back hem of the chemise falls about mid-buttcheek. The front clings to my stomach if I'm standing, but not to the point of exaggerating every curve. That surprises me; since I ordered the larger size to accommodate my bust I expected to find myself swimming in fabric in the midsection. The stretch of the fabric and the partly open back mean that this could easily fit someone a lot larger than me.
As seems to be my trend, the boobs don't fit. Don't worry, I'm sure a few years of therapy will fix all the issues I am developing from this happening continuously. The main problem seems to be that the underwires are so far apart in the front, too much space in between. The underwires don't sit UNDER my boobs, they kind of hang out about an inch from the bottom. If I move and squish things around so that the wire actually goes underneath, nothing makes it stay there. I realize I'm not going to get bra-level support from an item like this, and at least it's a step up from no support at all, but I was really hoping for more. I plan to do some altering- moving the underwires closer to each other, possibly even sewing some fabric into the cups to provide more support and shape. I think a few quick stitches might make a huge difference.
This lingerie is great if you want to feel sexy while still covering up a bit. There are so many cute sets available where the top seems to end right where I would like the coverage to begin- I'm not shy about my body, but if only one piece is going to be hanging out, I would prefer it not be my stomach!
One huge perk- this chemise is super comfortable! This isn't one of those pieces of lingerie that you can't wait to take off after an hour in the bedroom, it is comfortable enough to lounge around in all day.
I tried the panties under jeans to see if the ruffles would be visible, and I could easily see the poof of the lace through the jeans. I actually wondered if I could get away with wearing the chemise out as a top before it came, but having seen it in person, I'm not so sure. I posted a pic of the chemise worn with jeans (and a bra underneath) here, which should also give you a better idea about how it fits.

Follow-up commentary
1 month after original review
So far, this has held up nicely. I was able to make the panties a little smaller with about 10 minutes worth of hand-sewing, so they fit much better now!
I accidentally tossed the chemise behind my bed and forgot about it for about a week and was happy to discover when I dug it out that it really doesn't wrinkle -- gotta love that!

Great review! It's such a cute little outfit. I'm surprised the panties are larger; they're almost always smaller.
-
Kayla- It may be my total lack of an ass that makes them so large, I'm definitely top-heavy!

Lol, Oreo consumption. That's my issue too. Great review!
