Random Hearts Breaks My Heart
Not a fantasy...more like a nightmare. This set from Fantasy Lingerie has a very inaccurate sizing chart, poor design and construction, and horrible panties. Sure, the top is flowy and pretty, but that does not out way the many negatives.
Published:
Pros
Pretty top, $, machine washable/dry-able
Cons
Horrible sizing, oversight in construction, bad panties, frustrating to put on
Even after reviewing dozens on lingerie products, I have never tried one from Fantasy Lingerie. A lot of their designs are elegant and flowy which is not something I normally go for. I wanted to try it though and was hoping I could give a good review to one of their pieces since a lot have none at all. Sadly, I can't-not for this piece anyways. The sizing is off, the materials and construction is poor, and it was a bitch to deal with getting on. All of this totally put me out of the mood.
*Contents/overview:
The Random Hearts set comes with two matching pieces. One is the top which is a split halter camisole and the other is the g-string pantie bottom.
*Material:
Both pieces are made of white 100% polyester and have satin trim. The polyester is only slightly sheer. If something is dark underneath, that will show. For example, like if you have a dark tattoo, nipples, or pubic hair.
The material is very light and isn't very soft, but it doesn't irritate. The trim on both pieces is satin and has a red multi-size heart pattern on it.
*Design/craftsmanship
This cami top is very unique. It has a halter string bikini on top, that has a split bottom portion which makes it very flowy. The cups are positioned slightly off and more towards the center. This isn't all that bad though since it creates side boob which my boyfriend oh-so-loves. The inner sides of the triangle cups have the satin heart trim. This meets in the middle to make a bow (it sewn and cannot be undone). At the top of each triangle cup is a very thin string that ties behind the neck.
The pieces of fabric that fly away below the top are ruffled and angled. There are four separate pieces, two in front, and two in back. They do not stay close to the body which may be a good or bad thing, depending on how you like your lingerie to fit. The back does not tie or clasp, so make sure to check the size chart if you have a large band size.
I knew the g-string was crap from the moment I looked at it. The front is the traditional triangle. It has the heart trim also. A t-string style is the backing where the sides and butt strap meet to literally make a T. The problem is that they are not sewn together. Instead, the strap around the hips goes through a loop on the butt strap. This means that the butt strap can slide along the hips string. This also means that the hips string twists and is pretty impossible to get undone. I HIGHLY suggest sewing it in place before even trying this on!
*Cleaning/care/storage:
Surprisingly, this can be machine washed! To clean place it in the washer machine by itself and put it on the warm gentle cycle. To dry, tumble on low and remove it promptly. Do not twist or wring dry. This did not come in any kind of package, so to store just put in a drawer. No special needs here.

Experience
*Application:
This was more difficult than you;d think! I slid it over my head since the halter was already tied. For a good 3 minutes I tried to un-twist the fly away pieces of fabric. I got so friggin frustrated, that I actually gave up! When revisited, I took a different approach. I untwisted the fly away pieces and then held it open to step into and shimmy up my torso. This worked much better. I only had to adjust a few things.
*Sizing:
When I looked at the sizing chart for Fantasy Lingerie, it appeared that they ran large compared to other companies, but since this was my first from them, I went with the large. It should fit size 14-16, they don't specify a cup size, band 39-41", 30½-32½" waist, and 42½-44½ hip. I am smaller than all of those so I didn't anticipate it being too small on me. I weigh ~150 pounds (size 8/10); curvy but fit with a 34/36 D chest. I didn't have a big problem with the top, but the bottoms were so NOT correct for sizing.
The cups on the top fit, but showed side boob (I'm pretty sure this is intentional). The halter straps are thin so I don't recommend this for any woman with larger than D breasts. Because the cups are slightly ruched, the top would probably look baggie on smaller than a B. The band was comfortable and could probably fit a bit larger, but definitely not as large as the chart.
The fly aways made me feel silly because I usually get form fitted stuff, but my boyfriend loved the look of it. "PRETTY PRETTY", is what he said specifically about the flowing pieces. They from the torso and will hide a bit of tummy pudge if you have some, but not much. I felt like they didn't do my flat tummy justice.
The bottoms are horrid. They do not fit the hip range. My hips are ~38"- a whole 3 1/2" below the BOTTOM of the range and these cut into me. I hate that. HATE. The straps twisted even when putting it on and they never went back to being straight. The panties also don't have a liner and are irritating. The triangle front doesn't fit nicely and is a bit too long, which is something else I hate. This isn't the 80's anymore!
Their chart is so off! The large fits the majority of what they have listed for their medium and a bit of their small even.
My re-sized chart:
Dress: 8-10
Cup: B-D
Band: 34-38"
Waist: No need to worry about this!
Hips: 34-37"
*Conclusion:
I am giving this 2 stars. For the cheap price, I did get an interesting top out of it, but the panties will be replaced. The sizing is extremely off and this runs very small compared to their chart. For a large compared to other companies, it isn't the worst. The cheap material, frustration in putting it on, bad design, and poor oversight on some parts of the construction, far out way the cheap price and pretty flowy material.

I'm honestly surprised I gave this two stars. I don't know how that happened. I hate this, but I still own it. Why? I have no clue. Maybe because I hate throwing things out and I have not wanted to pass it along to any one. It is one of the worst lingerie pieces I have ever bought.
