Perfect flirty corset-top ... just don't expect the world.
If you want to get into corseting, or you just love the look, this is the corset for you. A step above the typical lingerie-section corset.
Published:
Pros
Great fabric, not very strict (great for beginners), comes with instructions.
Cons
Lower-quality front zipper construction.
Use
The turquoise zip-front corset is perfect if you're a lady (or man, I don't judge!) who likes the look of corsets, but is unsure about the being comfortable with a super-strict, waist-training garment.
This is definitely a notch above the basic corset-looking shirt which offers no form-molding what-so-ever; you can get this little beauty to hug your curves if you've got 'em, but I'm not sure how much actual shaping it would do. To be fair, I'm a little bit more experienced in the world of corseting; my ideal corset, which I'm currently saving up for, is handmade and guarantees to take eight inches off the wearer's waist. This is not that corset, but regarding lingerie, this is a step in the right direction.
Play
This corset is lovely for wearing during play. Whether you're the top or the bottom, or you just like to have a little crazy fun, a corset is the perfect garment for bringing into sharp focus your feminine curves; this corset satisfies! It doesn't have the strict look of most BDSM gear, so you can dress it up or down. It's flexible enough of a look, so you can do what makes sense for your lifestyle. I love versatility.
Sizing
I typically wear a size M/L, I ordered a size 36. It seems to run a little large. The length of the lacing is appropriate for the size. The front zipper measures roughly 15".
Material/design
My only disappointment with this one is the quality of the zipper on the front. When worn and tightened properly, the zipper doesn't sit exactly straight. Again, this may reflect my desire for the strict, tight-laced BDSM corset, but the lack of symmetry when completely laced is unfortunate.
Otherwise, this is a very well-made piece. The fabric is a beautiful shade of turquoise, with magenta and silver accents and the elegance one would expect from an Asian brocade fabric. The back doesn't have a modesty panel, which means there is no flap of fabric covering the skin under the lacing in the back. For a more strict corset, most people would prefer a modesty panel; for this design, it's not as crucial. The boning in the construction is soft (rather than steel), which makes this perfect for long-term wear.
Packaging
I was delighted to find that the packaging included a little tag describing how one might tighten a corset on oneself. It did recommend finding a person to help you, which I second, but it's definitely possible to tie it successfully on your own. If you get stuck, go to YouTube and search "corset lacing." There's a wealth of information to be found!
Storage and care
This corsets, as is true with most, is easy to care for. Simply wash by hand in cold water as needed, and be sure to store in such a way that it won't get bent. If it does bend, it might stay that way; this is even more likely with corsets which have soft boning, like this one.
Great for the price
Overall, this beauty is great for the price. A step up from lingerie, sturdy, and sure to wow your next unsuspecting victim. Or your partner. You know what I mean. ;)
