Part 1 of My First Wet Look Outfit
The Wetlook Tank Top is what sparked a small shopping spree of "wet look items". I'm more pleased with some than others. This piece falls somewhere in the middle. It's really sexy but due to the design and fabric, it slides and shifts too much to be practical for long term wear.

Pros
Cool material, Stretchy, I don't need to wear a bra!, Pretty ribbon
Cons
Ribbon slides too easily, Too short!, Flattens D cups a bit, Tuckers
I've never tried any "wet look" clothing so when I saw this top I wanted to go all out. I got this top and [the pants to match]. I'm in love with the look of this, but it's not practical to wear for long periods of time. The lace up back slides the lace around too much and creates peaks in the material. Putting problems with the material aside, the shirt is also too short and the bust area flattens chests somewhat.
*Contents/overview: One piece top
The Wetlook Tank Top is from Coquette. It comes all laced up. The top is meant to be worn without a bra due to the very large open back. It's available on Eden in one size fits most. The laced up back can be adjusted for fit.
*Material: Limited stretch, Smooth
The top is made of 80% nylon and 20% spandex. It's an odd material, in short. It looks "wet" and sort of resembles pleather, but is not nearly as shiny. It stretches a lot better and is more flexible. Thankfully, unlike pleather it also doesn't start to crack and separate when it is stretched. The material feels different on the outside than it does on the inside. The part that lays on the skin feels more like cotton and doesn't have the shiny or wet effect. The material isn't very thick, but it can feel warm and traps perspiration. The top also has metal grommets and satin ribbon for the back.
*Design/craftsmanship: Not the type of material best for this design!
The tank top looks like a normal shaped "wife beater" tank from the front. From the top of the straps to the bottom, the top is about 20" long. From the deepest dip in the neckline to the bottom is about 12 1/2". That's pretty short for most people. The thing I like about the tank is that it has shape. From armpit seam to armpit seam it is about 14 1/2", the waist is 12", and the very bottom is again about 14 1/2". The straps themselves are about 1 1/2" wide.
The back is widely open even if you have a very small frame. There are six large grommets on each side of the opening. The grommets are 1" wide and 2 3/8" apart from each other. The ribbon through the grommets is 9/16". The ribbon is incredibly long! There's plenty to tie with. The ribbon slides through the large grommets really easily, perhaps too easily. When I wear it, I can easily start with the lacing being very even at the top, middle, and bottom. But in a short period of time, the lacing moves and it get closer together at the top. I don't like how it looks uneven and the material tuckers badly in between the grommets no matter how tight or lose I tighten it up. If the top were a little longer I might be able to anchor it around my hips to prevent tuckering, but with it being short, it has more freedom to move.
*Cleaning/care/storage: Hand wash/Hanger
The top comes on a black plastic hanger. I believe it came in a plastic bag or was also wrapped in pink tissue paper. The tag says to hang wash only and lay out to dry. I have only tried on this piece and have not really worn it, so I have not had to clean it, but I', spot clean it before I submerge the whole top. I would remove the ribbon before doing so too.

Experience
*Sizing/fit: A little small for OS, Short
I only had the choice of the OS. Here is the Coquette sizing chart. It's a little small in the chest because of the nature of the material. It also is short for my tastes. It rides up easily. Otherwise, it fits pretty well, but it doesn't stay put to save its life. The OS should fit a dress size 6-12 dress, B cups, 36-38" band, 28-30" waist, 38-40" hip, and 120-150 pounds. At the time of this review I was about 144 pounds, size 8 in most jeans, 8/9 in dresses, 34/36 D chest, and 30" waist. I wear a size M in most tees and tanks.
My Re-done chart/BEST fit: For the OS
Dress: 6-10
Cup: B/C
Band: 32-36"
Waist: 28-30"
Weight: 120-160 lbs
*Possible accessories:
There are a few wet look bottoms to choose from!
Booty shorts orZip-up shorts
or pants...
Wet look pants - I'm wearing them in the second picture.
or stockings!...
Stockings
*Conclusion: 3 stars ★★★
Sadly, this shirt falls short, literally. It rides up and the back's lacing doesn't stay as I want it to allowing major tuckering! It might not bother some, but it drives me nuts that it doesn't lie flat or pull evenly. It might be less of a problem on a flatter chest, but for me, I like the front of this much better than the back. Thankfully, I can turn it around for a REALLY sexy look that doesn't tucker!

Follow-up commentary
3 months after original review
This top still bothers me. I haven't been able to find a way to make this not pull in the weird spots that it does. I still like the look, but I wouldn't wear this to a fetish party because it looks cheap.
