My What Cheap Material You Have
If you are interested in a high quality, well made, and sexy chemise and robe set to sleep in this product isn't for you. While Dream Girl's Sapphire Lace Robe and Chemise is sexy it is neither high quality nor well made. If you are only interest in an item that won't be missed if it is ruined or destroyed then by all means this is the set for you.

Overview
The Sapphire lace robe and chemise by Dream Girl comes is a two piece set featuring, well, a chemise and robe. Don't like the sapphire? Dream Girl also offers this product in green and black. Personally, if they're anything like the sapphire I recommend looking into a different set altogether.
Material and Texture
Robe
The robe is 100% nylon with a hint of polyester lining. The sash that you use to tie the robe closed is 100% polyester. The material, while thin and cheap, is so light it feels like there is nothing touching my skin. That is unless you were to, say, more your arms. Then you would feel a scratchy drag against your skin. If you're only wearing this robe briefly the drag probably won't bother you but if you're planning on wearing this for long periods of time the material will get itchy. Same goes for the tag at the back of the neck, itchy. As for the polyester sash; this is soft, long (over 60 inches), and lovely. I think it's beautiful and enjoy running my fingers against the material. The only drawback provided in this portion of the robe is in the design and craftsmanship, which we will get too shortly.
Chemise
The chemise is 100% polyester and unlined. This makes the outer layer feel silky soft but the inside, while not irritating, is a bit rougher on the skin. Personally the inside material doesn't bother me but it isn't the most high quality material you are going to feel against your skin, think cheap polyester. Given that they took the time to double line the sash I would think Dream Girl would do the same with the chemise to make a better quality product, unfortunately they did not.
Design and Craftsmanship
Robe
This is almost made entirely out of a floral nylon design that has several little strings popping out of random places. Note the picture below which features one of these random strings and oh another string that seems to be attached to the robe. What's that you say? Well those are the side holders for the sash; you know to help it tie around your waist. And boy are they flimsy every time I put this robe on I'm afraid they're going to get caught and rip. Luckily Dream Girl had the sash sewn into the middle of the robe. Of course if you were planning on removing the sash for any reason it is now permanently attached, fair warning.
Chemise
The chemise is a v-neck design with adjustable straps that criss-cross in the back. I am not saying this will happen to everyone, but these straps are quite uncomfortable for me. I have yet to find a way to adjust the criss-cross design so I don't feel like I'm being chocked from behind. As for the craftsmanship, well disappointing would be an understatement. I couldn't get it on camera even when I wasn't wearing the robe to show you, but the sides have ripples. From afar they look as if the chemise is wrinkled, but when you go to smooth it oh...that didn't work. I'm pretty sure that when these were being sewn they were run through the machine quickly without trying to match the side lengths. Therefore the ripples are like extra fabric that should have made its way to the bottom. To be sure I looked at my own and yup! When the slit, oh I forgot to mention the chemise has a slit at the thigh, is smoothed together on both sides they don't match. The front of my chemise is an 1 inch longer than the back. Thank you Dream Girl.
Packaging and Cleaning
This set came folded in pink tissue paper with the Dream Girl tag attached. The tag features a picture of the model from the product page and is attached to the chemise via a plastic tag holder. Luckily the chemise is not made out of a delicate material like the robe so cutting off the tag did not leave any holes, snags, or rips. Cleaning instructions are featured on the inner tags of the garments. They recommend that the set be hand washed in cold water and lined dried. I agree that you should follow these directions with the robe due to its delicacy. As for the chemise, I would say it should be fine to wash on the delicate cycle in cold water but do not place this in the dryer. This type of polyester strikes me as being easily frayed so placing it in the dryer could be a mistake. For that same reason I would not recommend ironing this set.

Sizing
Dream Girl Size Chart
My Measurements
110 lbs, 5'3 height, 34C Bra, 28 inch waist, 38 inch hips, Dress size 4/6
Chemise Measurements Laying Flat
Length from the center-down: 20 inches
Length from the shoulder-down: 27 inches
Bust Across: 13 inches unstretched, 18 inches stretched
Waist 14.5 inches
Bottom Hemline: 28 inches spread out
Robe Measurements Laying Flat and Opened
Length: 29 inches
Bottom Hemline: 41 inches spread out
Sleeve Length:17.5 inches from the shoulder
Now that you've went through all of the measurements I can tell you this set is offered in sizes S-3X/4X, I ordered the small. Due to the fact that the chemise is more of a loose design around the hips and there is stretch provided at the bust/stomach area this set is true to size and then some. By that I mean if you're two inches short of a medium in the hips you should probably go with the medium. The fantastic thing I can say about this set is that the sizing is great. Dream Girls is looking to accommodate real women with real curves here. Although if you're naturally petite the small fits me pretty comfortably i.e. not too tight. So if you're much smaller than me this might be a bit loose on you. Lets not forget the tall lasses, as noted above I am 5'3 and this set fits me at the tops of my thighs, if you're a lady of 5'5 or 5'6 stature ordering the small beware a potential peep show.

What I wasn't so fond of
The Sapphire lace robe and chemise gets 2 stars. As mentioned above the products quality is severely lacking. If the robe lasts a month without ripping or mysteriously disintegrating I would be extremely surprised. The strings, because what else would I call those supposed sash holders, were in danger of busting even as I reviewed the item. Luckily they are not vital to the robe since the sash is sewn in the middle. Also the sash itself, while lovely, was poorly sewn together. While the fact that the sash's fabric does not line up perfectly doesn't worry this plus the mismatched sides of the chemise tell me something. Anyone with enough talent for crafts and a sewing machine could probably make this set at home.
What I liked
Okay enough bashing this set, it isn't a complete failure. I like the way it looked on me, the stretch at the bust and the fact that it's offered in plus sizes is a nice touch. While I still expect the rob to disintegrate at any moment making me afraid to wear it at all the piece is still a cute and wearable for short periods of time. I do not expect this set to last whomever owns it too long but if you're looking for something disposable and willing to pay the price hey go ahead. All in all not a bad set but if you have the choice between this and a set by say Coquette or any other lingerie brand you trust, look there first.

Follow-up commentary
3 months after original review
I’ll admit this has kind of grown on me…well the robe has at least. As far as I’m concerned the chemise will always be of unfortunate poor quality. But when writing my review I remember noting that the robe would probably only last a few more wears then magically disintegrate given how fragile it was. Color me surprised that it has managed to withstand this short test of time. In this sense it has far exceeded my expectations. While I’m still not going to recommend this to anyone given the low quality and price I will say I like this set just a teensy bit more.

I hope so, Alice's piece was nice so maybe mine was just a fluke who knows

I actually got the green one and I dislike it so much that I doubt I'll ever wear it. I don't feel sexy in it at all. When I wear it, I feel like I'm wearing a piece that my grandmother would have worn. heh, thanks for the review though tripod.

I'm sorry yours was such a disappointment as well, sktb007. I was hoping it was just me. Maybe you can return it? Or do an exchange? It seems like such a waste to never wear it again. I'm giving mine away as a gift for christmas to a friend. Maybe you want to do that? Sorry once again for the let down, I know how it feels with this piece

I'm so confused now. The other review of this in green gave it 5 stars. I really wanted to get this for my gal in green because I love green. You don't find green a lot of here. But I'm not sure if she would side with you or the other girl. Thanks for the review, though.

Thank you!
