My Only Option
Leg Avenue is probably the most popular maker of novelty hosiery. This purple color is hard to find. I was lucky to get the last pair on Eden! They are soft and fit larger thighs which is a plus. They don't hold their shape well though and have a hard time hugging slim ankles.

*Intro/Story/Overview
I have been buying a lot of lingerie lately because of losing a few dress sizes. One of the items I bought a week ago was this two piece set that requires stockings. I like to grab a pair of matching stockings every time I buy a piece of lingerie. I do this because it lengthens the life of all my stockings since they aren't worn as much, and because different stocking types can really change the look of a piece of lingerie. I took this opportunity to try to get purple ones since I don't have a lot of purple lingerie and don't have a pair of lingerie stockings. I was a little surprised to find that Eden only had two option in purple, and only one option that would work with garters, these that I'm reviewing. Unfortunately, now that I bought the last pair and they are discontinued (sorry!), this is your only purple option now. Seeing that I only had one option, I got it, hoping it would work.
They worked well enough, but these stockings have some down falls like many similar styles and colors in the Leg Avenue line of this price range. They stretch out a bit too easily and don't hug to the back of the ankle. This drives me crazy since I think my ankle to calf ratio is really sexy. I don't want to look like I have cankles or anything close to them! The color is REALLY pretty, but it might look strange on certain skin tones. I recommend them to average heights or lower since stretching them more makes the non-hugging problem worse. For the price, they are decent, especially since it's apparently hard to find purple!
They come in seven colors, but eden now only carries these: black, red, white, baby blue, and baby pink.
*Contents/overview:
This pair of stockings is from the most popular maker of novelty hosiery, Leg Avenue. They have a standard fishnet hole size with closed non-reinforced toes. They do not have a back seam or topping band of any kind. These stockings require garters. They are one size fits most but are better for larger sizes or shorter people since they can stretch too much.
*Material/color: Good-Soft and stretchy, but not resilient
The stockings are made of 100% nylon. The nylon is very soft, a lot softer than most nylons I've experienced. The material is comfortable to wear and not itchy or abrasive. They stretch to a point, but don't go back to their original shape very well. The purple color is a pretty lavender. Unfortunately, the color can look a tad strange on certain skin tones. On my summer tan, the color really pops, but on lighter tones, it can make the legs look a little grey. This is an effect I tried to catch in a picture, but was unsuccessful. It's something you have to see in person I guess, take my word on it.
*Design/craftsmanship: Decent, works for the price
These stockings are meant to be worn with garters since the top is unfinished. They have a few stray seams too. The fishnet makes it really easy to put garters through. I suggest securing it through more than one piece of netting to reduce the chance of ripping. There isn't really a good shape to these stockings. It sort of a straight shot. This causes the fit problem I'll discuss in a later section. The toes are closed and there is no reinforcement. Toes won't typically stick through the holes.
*Cleaning/care/storage: Hand wash
Take some care when putting these on, taking them off, cleaning, and storing them. They don't run like 99 cent nylons in the plastic balls, but they can rip if you are not careful. The color might fade with washing to make sure to use cold water and try not to expose them to heat. Hand washing in non harsh detergent and drip drying is your best bet. They can be stored in the bi-fold cardboard it comes in or folded up like socks.

Experience
*Sizing/Application: Decent one size fits most, best for larger thighs and shorter legs
The package says that these are a one size fits most item that is supposed to fit women 90-160 pounds. However, since these are so stretchy, they work better for larger thighs, but really can be worn by smaller ones as well. I am about ~142 pounds and have meaty dancer thighs that are about 23" at the thickest part. They fit my thighs just fine with plenty of room to spare. My ankles don't fill these stockings though. I don't like that they are lose in this area. This problem can be fixed by wearing a heel with an ankle strap, but we don't all have those nor want to wear them. I had to stretch them out to get to the height I wanted, mid thigh, so these are also better for women 5'6" or shorter. This depends on where you want your stockings to lie though.
*BEST Fit Chart:
Pounds: 135-170
Height: 5'3"-5'6"
Thigh circumference: 22"-26"
NOTE: Other sizes may fit, just are not the best for the design. This was amended a bit due to losing weight. I gained new perspective.
*Conclusion:
These stockings are getting 4 stars because they are in a hard to find color, are comfortable, fit larger thighs, and are a cheap price. I docked a star because of the fit and the fact that they don't go back to their original shape very well.

Follow-up commentary
2 months after original review
These were not exactly what I was hoping for at the time, but they were well worth the price. I have only used them a few times, three possibly, but they have held up well. They show no serious wear and look like they will hold up for awhile.
