Micro-Hipsters
Like other Baci products I own, these shorts have the same problem of loose threads and bad stitching but also some tiny sizing. As a fan of low rise clothing and underwear still I found these too low-rise and skimpy to be practical day to day wear, they do make nice skimpy lingerie for certain occasions though.

Pros
Sexy lace trim and vibrant red colour, good for wearing under low-rise jeans.
Cons
Sizes run very small, loose threads and off-centre stitching, skimpier than shown!
Spotting the Baci red and black lace trim microfiber shorts on site I was attracted by the thought of them being a sexy yet comfortable pair of boyshorts which at 5.99 looked seemed for everyday wear.
-Packaging
The Baci boyshorts arrived in a thin box similar to what you would usually expect to find a pair of tights or stockings in, On this box are photos of the boyshorts being modelled just like the product page shows. On the back of the box are instructions for washing the shorts along with a sticker of authenticity to prove that this is really a Baci product. Within the flat box, the shorts sit folded against a piece of white patterned paper within clear plastic covering them.
-First Impression
Once removed from the packaging I was surprised by just how small these look. Being a U.K size 6 to 8 or a U.S size 4 I ordered a size small but still expected these to look bigger than they did. In person, the red colour of the red and black option are actually quite a bit brighter than shown on the product pictures, I can’t imagine a brighter or more vibrant shade of red than the shade that these are. To the touch the red microfiber material is very soft and smooth, the black lace trim feels relatively soft but the outer part of the lace material is soft than the part that actually sits against your skin, the inner part of the lace feels slightly scratchy when ran through your hands.
Like other Baci products I own, there were several loose threads to be cut away and the stitching does seem off-centre in some places. While having a look at the label for washing and material instructions, one side of the label actually came away from the shorts because of this off-centre stitching, I’m just glad it was the label and not more important stitching! Looking at the liner of these it seems quite small or skimpy considering these are not thongs and the shorts themselves are not skimpy underneath.
-Measurements
Size small, when lying flat and unstretched:
10.5 Inches across
6.5 Inches Top to bottom
3 Inches Across crotch

- Wear
When worn, the boyshorts sit very low on the hip and seem smaller than they look in the product photos, with the back of them barely covering my crack and the front of them scooping in the middle and just about covering my (tidy) pubic hair. Though they do have some stretch to them, even as a U.K size 6 or U.S size 4 on bottom they are a snug fit. I really can’t imagine these comfortably fitting anyone even one size up from that.
In wear they do feel quite comfortable once they are adjusted right, being so small in size they can find a way of creeping if not well adjusted when you first put them one. The microfiber material feels breathable when worn for extended periods of time and the lace trim isn’t as scratchy as I thought it might be. Sitting low on the hip, these are great for wear with low rise jeans and the small cut of them makes them work well as lingerie rather than every day boyshorts. They don’t have too visible a panty line when worn under thin dress but I wouldn’t say they are completely panty line free.
To look at on, I found they were flattering but I wouldn’t imagine feeling confident in them if you are in any way self-conscious about carrying and weight around the hips or low on the stomach as being so small in size and sitting so low, they don’t seem forgiving of a tight fit. I would definitely recommend going up a size if unsure when ordering these. At only 5” 4 myself and finding these sit too low, I wouldn’t want to recommend them to a taller person or would again at least recommend going up a size as I feel the small waist sizing plays a big part in these sitting so awkwardly low.
Overall I think these shorts look quite sexy one and I love the bright shade of red against the black trim. If I could change one thing about these I would add an inch of extra material around the waistline so they would sit right! The positive about these being so skimpy though, is that they do make great lingerie for a partner to see you in.
-Material/Care
Made of 90 percent polyester and 10 percent spandex, the Baci boyshorts are suitable for warm machine wash but should not be washed with lighter colours. Seeing just how bright a shade of red these are in person, I know I really wouldn’t risk mixing these with other, lighter colours. Only non-chlorine bleach should be use with these if needed. They can be tumble dried on a low heat and should not be ironed or dry cleaned. Apart from the problem of bad stitching, the material of these does seem like it will hold up well with regular washing.

Follow-up commentary
11 months after original review
After just a few wears, the off-center stitching of these proved to be even more problematic as I managed to pull the stitching apart at the seams with very little effort. I really wasn't impressed with the quality of these from the start and got very few wears before I had to throw them away.
