Metal boning? More like noodles...
While the Lyrca corset with ruffle trim is a very beautiful piece to add to your collection, don't be surprised when you receive it and the boning isn't what you assumed it would be.

Pros
Pretty to look at, easy to care for
Cons
Not what one would assume it's like
I was ecstatic when I saw this corset. I had purchased one from Coquette a few months back and wasn't the least bit satisfied with it's plastic boning. When I saw this one with metal boning, I couldn't be happier! When it came in the mail, I ripped open the box with anticipation. I was finally going to own a corset that kept my girlish curves in place!
Once I got it out of the box, I put it on. Not hesitating to test the boning. I was much too excited! But, my excitement was soon extinguished when I realized how flimsy the boning was. It reminded me (A LOT) of the plastic boning. And while it was nice and snug around my tummy, my breasts didn't even come close to filling up the top. Because this is more of a bustier than a corset (no working laces), there wasn't a way to tighten the top besides tailoring it (which I inevitably did).
The fabric itself was very comfortable. It felt so soft! The boning wasn't straight up and down like my other corset. Instead, it had some curves to it. Making it very aesthetically pleasing. Both the top and the bottom of the corset have a single sheer ruffle. It's not huge, so it doesn't distract you from the rest of it. On the back there are red faux laces. They don't do anything for the corset except give the people walking behind the wearer something to look at.
This piece is 82% nylon and 18% spandex (excluding the trim). The tag says to hand wash only and hang it up to dry. It comes with a beautiful satin covered hanger to do this on which makes it even better.
There are 2 detachable straps included with the corset.
I got this corset in the 3x-4x size. I find it weird that, while I haven't gained any weight since starting out on this site, I have seemed to go from 1x-2x to 3x-4x. Where this really sucks is in the bust. The 3x-4x size comes with a bust fit for a DD. I am a C. Here's the measurements for the corset laying flat.
From side to side it's 19 inches.
From top ruffle to bottom it's 19 inches.
The strip of hook and eyes is 16 inches.
Unfolded/unhooked it's 40 inches from one side to the other.

Experience
While this corset isn't exactly what I thought it was going to be, it was still very pretty. After I made the alterations to it, I like the fit more. I have decided this is going to be my "first time in Vegas" outfit paired with a pair of black capris.
Follow-up commentary
3 months after original review
I really wish this had the boning I thought it had. Up until I outgrew it, I still put it on occasionally. There hasn't been an issue with fraying, loose threads, or boning popping out.
