Mesh My Boobs Flat....Nope, Left Them Flopping! (Size M)
This is a pretty designed, pin up or burlesque style corset that hooks up the back. There is no lacing for adjustment and this looks a lot like a really nice bustier. The material is stretchy and will help pull your figure into that hourglass you are hoping for, just beware if you have a very short torso, smaller than proportional waist and large breasts. The fit made me look like a ridiculous cartoon, but I can definitely see where this would be stunning on someone with a different body shape!

First Impression & Style:
The Polka-Dot Mesh Corset arrived packaged in a clear plastic bag with a glued fold over top. The corset is very pretty, but really reminds me of a superbly dressed up full torso girdle. I would have thought this was a bustier due to its design. There is no lacing, just two rows of 18 small hooks up the back. This makes getting into this corset a bit of a challenge. I have some issues with my body working with this corset, I just have too different of a build to look good in this garment.
The style is reminiscent of the 60's burlesque or pin up girls. I love the design and the silhouette this garment is supposed to make. The hourglass figure will be created with this item, as long as you don't have too much of an hourglass. I do and the waist really went in to the point where I looked ridiculous.
Material & Care:
The material for the body of the corset is a fine, opaque, white mesh. There are two layers and it keeps the garment from being see through. The mesh is very soft. There are velveteen white polka dots infused into the mesh. The boning is plastic and is very flexible. It is covered with white velvet material. The bows are white satin material and are pinned on, you are able to change the colors of them if you wish. The ruffles are mesh and are sewn onto a satin strip. The hookband is white canvas over felt, and the felt overlaps underneath the hooks to form a small privacy panel. The 1" wide elastic band is covered in a felt material for your comfort.
This corset is hand wash only in cold water with a mild detergent, do not bleach and line dry. If the ruffles droop after washing, spray some starch on them and fluff them back up. I would recommend removing the bows prior to washing. Fluff the velvet boning covers with a lint brush, works perfectly!!
Features & Flaws:
The inner breast area has padded and shaped cups, however, the cups do not offer any support for your breasts. If you have large, full breasts, you might not get a comfortable fit. My breasts are 42D, very full and they flopped around and fell out of the padded cups. I would not be comfortable wearing this in public and was just not happy enough with the lack of support to wear this very long.
There are multiple rows of ruffles on the top and bottom that add a very feminine and pretty look to this corset. There is one bow between your breasts and two bows on the bottom above your hips. It would be fun to switch these out with other colors to match your moods. These pin on, so it would be easy to make other ones.
The elastic internal waist band is to help pull your waist in and create that hourglass figure. I hated the fact that the stitching was not hidden in any way, it is very visible and does pull your eye to it when you are looking at the garment on a person. I think it looks kind of tacky. On me, it pulled way in! My waist has gone down to 29" and my hips are 40". I have an extremely short torso, so the 11" difference is very startling when exaggerated by the band in this corset. I looked pretty bizarre.
Sizing:
To get this corset to fit my waist and hips, I had to go down to a Medium. The material is stretchy and this fit snugly but pretty well. If I would have gone with the large, there is no doubt that the fit would have been too loose. I would suggest, for the most part, to get your actual size. I don't mind really snug corsets, but I also know that most people do not wear them as tight as I do.
I thought about trying the next size up, but was not as impressed with this corset as I thought I would be. The stitching is great, the quality is good, but the material just looks really cheap to me. I am not a fan of overdressed, stretch bra material.

Follow-up commentary
3 days after original review
I do not want to put this on one more time, not even to show you how horrible I look in this corset. I am pretty disappointed, but realize that I am not going to love every item of lingerie I get. I just wish this one was designed a bit differently.
The major flaws with this corset not fitting my figure were the lack of breast support and the narrow waist band. I did not like the fact that the waist band was fully visible, either. I am now selling this one on the classifieds, there are plenty of women who will be able to pull this off and look amazing. I am not one of them.
