Like A Lady of Versailles
With it's lovely periwinkle and pink coloring the Paisley Design Brocade Corset does a great job of making it's wearer feel like a lady at Versailles. This corset's aesthetics make it sexy, fun, and fancy; perfect for summer romance. It must be mentioned, however, that the brocade which holds the corset closed is difficult to maneuver and may be somewhat of a hassle for those who want fast and easy to use lingerie.

Overview
My first impression of the Paisley Design Brocade Corset and G-String by Music Legs was that it reminded me of Marie Antoinette and what I imagine the corset of a lady of Versailles to look like. In my experience, while this corset may have its flaws and is certainly not made for my body type, it is a lovely item for many ample bosomed Edenites.
Material and Texture
Corset
Located in the back of the corset is a tag stating that this garment is 80% Nylon and 20% Spandex. The Nylon portion consists of ribbon which is used as trimming and to lace the back of the corset as well as the shell. I’m not sure if there is 20% of Spandex here exactly. It seems to only be a part of the edges closing the garment together, this is located behind the trimming. Along with the fabric there are 10 plastic boning strips running down the corset, 5 on each side of the lacing. Also the brocade, which refers to the way in which this item closes, consists of 6 metal hooks which latch on to 6 metal bolts laying parallel to them. As for the feel of this corset I would say that the outer shell is made of a rough, stiff fabric that seems fairly sturdy. At the same time this is not too rough on this inside when laying against the skin nor is it itchy.
G-String
This part of the set has the same material description as the corset which means it too is, at least according to the tag, 80% Nylon and 20% Spandex. I would wager that this is a bit off in the case of the g-string. While I know there is very little material here to begin with it is very stretchy. I would say that the Spandex retains about 30% of this g-string, maybe more. For those of you who might be wondering this g-string has no cotton crotch, which means these panties can allow for bacteria to fester.
Design and Craftsmanship
Corset
Ms. N pointed out in herreview of this set the Paisley Design Brocade Corset isn’t quite paisley. I like to think of it as the starting off with a paisley design then deciding to go floral. This makes the pattern look like something you might find on a decorative couch pillow. Personally the non-paisley factor doesn’t bother me but the name is misleading. This pattern runs along the entirety of the corset, the only place you will not find it is where the ribbons lay. The embedded pattern is a glossy purplish-pink color with the background fabric of the corset being periwinkle. In my opinion the periwinkle is more blue then purple but definitely a mix of both.
There are six baby blue bows at the front of the corset laying within the cotton candy pink trim. I’m not really a big fan of so many bows being present because I think it looks too busy. There is more pink and blue ribbon at the top of the chest hanging on each end of the sweetheart bust. In the back there is a blue ribbon tied into 10 metal rings located on each side of the corsets back. This is to help adjust yourself properly into the garment.
I feel that it is pertinent to explain the shoddy job done with the brocade. Don’t get me wrong the fabric is well stitched and sturdy so the craftsmanship is mostly good but the brocade can be difficult to close. The hooks tend to come undone as you close them and move on to the next set. I recommend starting in the middle, going down, then hooking the top two. Once you manage to get them all closed it shouldn’t be too bad.
G-String
By way of design there is not much I could say about the g-string that differs from the corset. The ‘string’ portion is the same candy colored pink as the corset although the material is a bit rougher. As for the front portion of the g-string it contains a swatch of the same pattern and material used on the corset so they evenly match.
Packaging and Cleaning
I received this Paisley Corset in a sealed, clear, plastic bag. Unlike other manufacturers I have had previous experience with on Eden Music Legs does not provide cleaning directions for this product in writing. Instead they use visual symbols to indicate that this set should be hand washed, not ironed, and hang dried. I would also 100% agree with their assessment that this is a set that should not be tossed in the washer.

Music Legs Sizing For Small

Bust:32-34
Waist:24-26
Hip:34-36
Usually I provide a size chart from the manufacturer. In this case I found it difficult to find one for Music Legs. If anyone knows of a non-Eden chart for this manufacturer let me know and I will add it to the review. Until then I listed the sizing above as it appears on Eden.
This set is offered in Small-Large, I selected the small and have found a misdirection in the sizing. The sweetheart bustline is in place to give cleavage to the wearer. If you are short torso-ed and on the small side of a C cup like me the bustline will almost overpower your cleavage with its frills. Since I barely make this work for me I would not recommend this to A-B cupped individuals. Chances are your breasts will be overwhelmed by the corset and no cleavage will be allowed to titillate. On the upside this does mean that those with larger breasts will get to enjoy this set as long as they can stand the lack of bust support.

What I wasn’t so fond of
What really irritated me once I had the corset on were the bows. They were everywhere up front, had they been spread out they would have been pretty. Here they were clumped together which made me feel like an overdone cupcake. Luckily they are sewn onto the trimming and not a direct part of it. I will be cutting these off very soon.
Secondly, while my breasts are present in this garment there is too much up top fabric for them to spill out of the corset properly and become enticing. I can wear this and not feel like I’m a little girl playing dress up which is fine but I also don’t feel 100% sexy in this. More likely I can dress in this for a Renaissance Faire and look presentable. I was hoping for so sexy I shouldn’t be seen in public, not the case here which sucks.
What I liked
Even though this garment is a bit overdone for my style preferences it definitely has its good points. I found that for me at least, the craftsmanship was superb where the boning was concerned. Yes the boning is plastic but what I liked was that it did not bit into my sides where it ended at the hips or my armpits. This is a flaw in a lot of lower priced corsets I’ve read about suffer from. I felt like I could wear this for hours without feeling any sort of discomfort. On top of that the brocade worked to slim my waist in an attempt to give me an hourglass figure. While the top might have failed in this regard the slimmed waist and flared hips meet my approval.
