The Chloe corset arrived on a nice, padded black hanger inside a plastic bag. The first thing I noticed about the corset, was the clear, jewel tone color of the red, the richness of the fabric and the beautiful contrast from the black accents. I also noticed that this was a corset without a black skirt. The pulled together and elegant look of the corset with the skirt, which I foolishly assumed was included or attached, was one of the main reasons this had ended up in my cart. Following my brief disappointment, I pulled the corset out of the bag for the primary inspection. And it took my breath away!

The material is a soft, luxurious, thick satin and has a classy, rich sheen. The corset felt padded, but the only materials are the satin outer shell and a soft and comfortable felt lining. These materials add a tremendous amount of strength and support to the corset.

The boning is plastic, but seems to be less flexible than other plastic boning material used in other corsets. There are five boning supports in the front, with two on each side running from the bottom of the bust to the hip and pelvic bone and one running down the center. These are repeated again in the back, with four more boning supports-one on each side of the lacing grommets.

The lacing is a red ribbon that is just a shade or two off from the corset. I replaced mine with a black satin ribbon and the contrast is amazingly beautiful. It also ties the back in nicely with the front design and color contrast. There is a large, 6 1/2" wide privacy panel flap under the lacing. The lacing runs through 11 metal grommets on each side and is looped to meet in the middle. This allows for easy adjustments once the corset is on.

There is a side zip, so I suggest putting the corset on a bit loosened, and then tightening the laces after it is fully zipped. When I tried to put it on already adjusted, I pinched my skin in the zipper. The movement of the zipper is smooth and it has not unzipped while wearing the corset.

The breast cups are lightly padded and has a full under wire, which adds great support. The under wire is comfortable and not noticeable once the corset is on. This is one of the more comfortable and supportive light corsets I have worn. The felt liner is absolutely luxurious!! The seams are well sewn, there were no loose threads and the decor and other seams matched up perfectly. This is a very high quality corset that will last.

The decor is very flattering and beautiful. The velvet faux-boning and shaped, floral lace runs slightly diagonal, from the outer breast area down to the bottom, where it all meets flatteringly in the middle. This draws the eye to your hourglass shape and minimizes the waist. There is a black bow centered between the breasts that was a bit irritating, but after seeing how it drew my eyes into my cleavage--it got a lot more pleasing! There are also 2 smaller bows on the little up-sweeps above each hip bone. The top is finished by one row of black sequins. The floral lace is shaped and elegant, with bead and sequin accents sewn onto the flower areas.

This is a beautiful piece for wearing out to a formal, dressy or special event. I am definitely going to wear this one for Christmas with a black, lace shrug and a velvet skirt. This would also look very classy and elegant paired with black jeans or dressy pants and a pair of heels. For the bedroom...it is very elegant and seductive. I added a touch of naughty when I paired it with my black lace booty shorts and lace heels.

The tag states that the Chloe is made of 100% Polyester, needs to be hand washed in warm water with a mild detergent and only non-chlorine bleach can be used when necessary. You will need to air dry the corset and ironing is not recommended. I do iron it on a very low temperature with a towel between the iron and the material, caution is greatly advised since you do not want to melt the material.

I definitely recommend hanging this in your closet to minimize wrinkles and keep the padded bust area from collapsing or bunching. You could try laying it flat, but the cups do stick out a few inches. This corset was a little bit large for me, but using the lacing, I was able to minimize the sag in the waist area from the excess material.

The quality and sewing in this corset is amazing!! I have had no issues with the material, stitching or lace and it still looks brand new--after being washed about 9 or 10 times!! This is a well-made, beautifully designed corset and is worth the money!!
