Just not for her... or the average woman, either.
This halter top looks great on the model but is poor quality and not flattering in person. If you want to look like a bowling ball, this is for you. If you prefer to look like a woman, keep on walking and find another top. We were totally disappointed in this, and in fact, we returned it to EF.

This is a very pretty shade of purple T-shirt type material. It is soft and comfortable. The style has lots of room to fit most women and comes in sizes from small to extra large. So far, it all sounds pretty good, doesn't it? Well, words, as well as looks, can be deceiving.
There is a wide band (of about 3") which runs along the bottom of this garment. There is ample fabric and it is gathered at the bottom, and at the top there is a slash V to accommodate the extra fabric. There are halter-type straps to hold the top up and they tie behind the neck. I ordered a medium and it fit fine--the band at the bottom was fitted enough to allow a finger to slide easily between her body and the top. However, all the fabric around the middle made her look like a bowling ball. No kidding--she is not really a large person by any stretch of the imagination (usually a size 6 and adorable), so it was really hard for me to give an honest opinion. I know how sensitive women can be about size issues, but this was something that I did not want her to wear in front of me, never mind other people. Luckily, she looked in the mirror and saw the same image that I was seeing.
The material, although a fairly dark color, is rather thin. Neither of us see how a bra could be worn with this and the nipples as well as an obvious outline of the breasts are easily visible. Less modest women would not mind, but I think that most women would be uncomfortable with this overtly sexual peep show. My lovely partner suggests that wearing bandaids would help with the nipples but would do nothing for the silhouette of the breasts themselves. She also finds that the halter top tied behind her neck is not very comfortable and the way this is put together takes some time to figure out how it is to be worn.

Experience
This top is made of a polyester and rayon blend and is washable and can be dried in the dryer. There is a cheap metal ring holding the halter straps together that can be removed for laundering. The pictures on EF and the description refer to the color as "blue", but it is a definite purple--not a blueish-purple, but a clear purple. It is a pretty color. For us, this just didn't work. It is beautiful on the hanger but does not flatter a woman's body. Small, large, big or small breasts--I just don't see this working for anyone. The model looks lovely, but I am guessing she is posed just so, and if she moved she would look like crap.
Follow-up commentary

This still isn't something that we would tell you to wear. It won't be used very much, even in the heat of summer because it is poorly made of inferior materials. We still don't like it and stand by the 1 star rating we originally gave it.

Would've been helpful to have a picture in order to understand what "bowling ball" means.
