I Got Stripes
I love these socks, plan to order several more pairs, and if Eden adds any more Leg Avenue socks I know I will snatch them up too. These socks are serving me well and look great with shorts when the weather is too cold to have bare legs. Unlike some fancy fashion socks, these are comfy and feel decently substantial, so they are my new favorites. Oh and they look great with combat boots.

Leg Avenue is considered hit-or-miss with things like costumes and petticoats by a lot of people I've met, but I have to say that their socks have generally been stellar for me! I already have the rainbow thigh high socks from them and love them, and I love my new striped ones as well. They look good with all different sorts of outfits, from skirts to shorts. Show them off with something leg-baring or let them peek out at the bottom of pants for a hint of fun. You really can't go wrong.
I hoped these would be thick, comfy socks and not thin, see-through stockings that some companies pass off as socks (These looked a little thin in the stock image so I was worried.) but I was not disappointed. These socks are average in thickness, comparable to any other fashion sock of decent quality. They are very soft, the stripes look well-printed, and they keep my legs nice and warm.
These socks are meant to be thigh highs, and go over the knee. I find this much more comfortable than knee highs which often chafe the backs of my knees. These are one-size-fits all, unfortunately, so people outside or on the edge of the supposed 90-160 size range for these socks should be cautious when buying. I am 5' 6" and wear a women's size 6/men's size small. These socks came up to about two inches above my knees when worn. My rainbow ones are really similar in feel and material, and they have shrunk down to about an inch above my knees, so I assume these will as well if I put them in the dryer.
The bottom of the foot area is around 8 inches long, and fit my thick feet (Women's size 9/men's size 6.) just fine with no uncomfortable bunching up or tugging on my toenails.
The fabric content of these socks is 75% acrylic and 25% spandex. They weren't stretched all that much on me and fit well, with only a little bit of my thigh puffing out above the elastic band at the top of the socks. Judging from other reviews, these socks can stretch quite a bit before the stripes look too distorted to look good.
The more elastic band at the top is about an inch wide. My skin generally doesn't like tight bands around it and gets irritated but the band on these is soft and it didn't irritate me much.
The socks were packaged wrapped in clear plastic with a cardboard insert showing the socks modeled against a rather pretty background. The socks were folded over one of those black plastic things long socks like these are usually put over to keep them folded. The back has care instructions, where the socks were made, et cetera.
They look strangely creased in this photo but rest assured that is just from the way they were packaged and they don't show in use or after being unfolded and shaken around.
The care instructions say to hand wash these socks and drip dry them. That said, I do machine wash my other Leg Avenue socks without any issue. I will hand wash these in cool water though to keep the white nice and crisp.

Follow-up commentary
2 months after original review
These socks are still awesome. The white is still bright, and the black still dark even though I've worn and washed them a lot.
I've gotten lots of compliments on them and they are still so comfy!
