Halter Strap Babydoll and G-String (Medium) Review
This piece doesn't fit me right, and so it's not my favorite to wear. When I do throw it on, I feel as though I am wearing a swimsuit, which I don't find to be sexy. On the right body type, I would think that this piece could make a very attractive top... it's just, sadly, not the top for me.

Sized Down and Still Too Big!, Feels Like A Bathing Suit
When I purchased this piece, I was looking for something that I could wear both in and out of the bedroom. I had visions of this piece being sexy enough to wear for my guy, and covering enough to wear to the mall. I dreamed of it being comfortable enough to sleep enough, and classy enough to wear to parties.
Lets just say I was disappointed on all counts... Read on to find out why.
What's Included:
This two piece set includes the halter strap babydoll, and a matching g-string. It also comes with a padded hanger.
Material and Care:
This set is made out of 80% Nylon, and 20% Spandex.
Unlike many lingerie items, this piece is solid all around. Those of you that are on the shy side will appreciate the coverage that this item provides. I, for one, was excited to see some opaque lingerie... that was until I felt the piece.
You see, this piece feels like a bathing suit. It's comfortable, but it definitely feels (and looks) like a swimsuit. To me, it feels like a very cheap one, in fact. Some may find that sexy, but I don't.
It is recommended that you hand wash this piece in cold water, and then hang it to dry. Personally, I see no reason why you can't put this piece in the washing machine on delicate cycle, though I would second the recommendation to hang this piece to dry.
Sizing:
Coquette has made this piece available in six sizes; small, medium, large, extra large, 1x/2x, and 3x/4x.
I had a feeling that this piece would run large, so I decided to purchase the medium.
A medium should fit someone with the following measurements:
Cup Size: B
Bust: 36-38"
Waist: 26-30"
Hips: 38-40"
Waist and hip size is not really relevant with this item. This is due to the fact that the lower portion is designed to sort of "flow" outward.
I wear a large C/small D cup, and somehow this piece was still slightly too big for me. That said, I feel that going for a smaller size would make the rest of this piece fit too tightly. You see, the piece fits snugly around my rib cage, but the cups have a fair amount of extra room in them.
The included g-string was too small for the measurements outlined. I could get into it, but not without it digging in to my skin a great deal. Unless your on the lower side of the measurements outlined, I wouldn't expect the g-string to fit properly.
Design:
The thong is typical of Coquette thongs. It is your standard "V" shape, with no pantyliner. I would love to see Coquette improve their thongs, as I always find them to be throwaways, with is so wasteful.
The babydoll is simple. The main body of this piece is black, whereas the trim is pink. The pink trim is, unfortunately, not sewn entirely to the babydoll, so you can sort of lift it up. I would have liked to seen the piece sewn fully, as it would've made the babydoll look much sexier.
The bust portion of the babydoll is supposed to be fitted. There is no underwire, though there is a seam going under the bust. That seam does not provide much support at all. The cups of the bust are also lightly lined, however that also does not provide much support.
The lower portion of the babydoll is designed to sort of skim the body, which provides a very sexy silhouette.
Now... the halter neck. The halter neck is fastened with a hook-and-eye set up. There is only one hook. There are two rows of eyelets. I tend to hook this on the loosest possible setting, and even then, it really hurts my neck. I feel that this is partially due to the fact almost all of the bust support is coming from the halter neck.
Also, you should be aware that there is a bow on one side of the halter neck. Personally, I think this bow is the only cute thing about this item, but others may not like it. If you don't like the bow, it would be very easy to remove it by just simply cutting a few threads. That said, I feel that removing the bow would leave a few small holes where the bow used to be.
Quality:
Surprisingly, this piece is decent quality. I found very few loose threads, and it does seem like it will hold up well. I only wish that the piece was sexier, and more comfortable.

Follow-up commentary
2 months after original review
After playing around with this, I was able to find a way to get this to sit right on me. It's still not my favorite top, but it's cute. That said, it's not something that I'll wear out in public due to the fact that the bust is a little loose on me. It's also not something I'll wear as lingerie, as I don't find it sexy. Still, with some adjustments, it's comfortable for me to wear around the house.

WOW, I'm glad I took a look at this before I ordered the 1x/2x.. I'm definitely going with the XL now, LOL. I don't think I'll have a problem with the material.. at least I hope not. We'll see! Thanks for the review!!

Thanks for the thorough review! I've had my eye on this, but was so afraid to try it out. I have had bad luck with my last few Coquette pieces and just could not bear another disappointment so soon. LOL. I hate that this wasn't exactly perfect and looked swim suit-ish I can see how it would look like that. Now I'm still on the fence about this. I'll have to wait before I decide I wanna risk it

I dislike halter strap items because of the neck strain involved. I wish they weren't so popular with designers.
