Great Potential, But It Doesn't Make Me Feel Sexy
This is another sexy dress from Coquette's Darque collection. I really wanted to love this piece, as it has a lot of things that I look for in sexy outfits; molded cups, stretch, comfort, and it fits true to the size chart! Unfortunately, however, this dress just showed off my curves in a way that made me feel completely unattractive. This dress IS sexy -- just not on me.

Pros
Comfortable, Stretchy, Fits true to size chart, Good quality
Cons
Hand wash only, Not figure flattering (on me), No modesty panel
Like many others, I was very excited to see all of the new wetlook items from Coquette's Darque Collection. As such, I immediately snatched up this dress, along with three others.
This one has a lot of great potential, but it doesn't make me feel sexy at all. This is due to a few reasons, but mainly because of the way that the dress clings to my stomach, making me look larger than I am. This dress could be an absolute knock out on the right body, but I didn't like it on me.
Basics:
This wetlook dress with molded cups is part of Coquette's Darque collection. It's available only in black, and it doesn't come with any matching undergarments. The dress is reasonably priced at $46.99. It's also available in four different sizes.
Material & Care:
This dress is made out of 80% Nylon and 20% Spandex, exclusive of the trim. The trim seems to refer to the little belt-like features that are found on each shoulder strap, and the ribbon that laces up the back of the dress.
The outside of the material is the wetlook fabric. It's shiny, sleek, and smooth to the touch. It's also very flexible, so you can move in this dress without feeling like the material is restricting your movements. The inside of the dress is smooth and comfortable.
This dress should be hand washed only, and then allowed to line dry. I wouldn't risk throwing it in the washing machine, as even the delicate cycle is likely to ruin the look of the material.
Sizing:
This dress is available in four different sizes: small, medium, large, and extra large. I purchased this in a large.
A large should fit someone with the following measurements:
Cups: C
Bust: 38-40"
Waist: 30-32"
Hips: 40-42"
I wear a 34d bra, and have a 32" waist. My hips measure 40". I feel that I'm really pushing the measurements for this dress all around, but it does fit me. It's very snug, but thankfully the stretch of the material allows it to fit me comfortably. The cups, which are not as stretchy as the rest of the piece, seem to be a smidge too small for my d size breasts. All in all, I'd say the size chart is right on for this number.
Design:
This sexy dress features molded cups. The cups do have some padding; they also have underwire. All of this means that the cups do provide the wearer with some support. They also provide the wearer with some fantastic cleavage.
The dress also has adjustable, but non-removable, shoulder straps. The straps can technically be adjusted two ways. You can adjust them by using the little belt like feature that's found at the front of each strap, though I wouldn't recommend doing that. The little belt feature is an absolute pain to adjust. You can also adjust them by simply sliding the little plastic bit up the strap, like you would for a bra strap -- which is the method of adjustment that I would recommend.
The body of the dress is designed to hug your curves. It's definitely tight fitting, as you can tell in the photo. Unfortunately, on me, the dress just made me look fat when I had the material laying smooth, as it's meant to. I was able to get a more flattering look by pulling the dress up, so that it had a sort of "runched" look, but then I found that the dress wasn't nearly as comfortable to wear.
Going around to the back of the dress, you'll find that there is a little panel of lacing. The lacing is open, with no modesty panel. For me, the lack of a modesty panel means that this isn't a dress that I would wear in public. The lack of the modesty panel also makes it difficult to wear a bra with this dress; not that you'll need one, what with the cups being molded.
Another issue that I have with this dress is the length of this dress. In my opinion, this dress is just a little too long. I'm 5'6", and this dress came to below my knees. The long length will be a plus for you tall girls, but for anyone who's on the shorter side (or even average), I think that the dress may feel a bit too long. I would've much preferred a shorter length.
The lower half of the dress does have one redeeming quality though -- it has a slit. The slit is found on the back of the dress, and it's very sexy.

Experience
Quality:
The quality of this dress is great. There were no loose threads, or sewing errors, that I noticed.
I give this piece 3 stars, only taking off stars because I feel the dress is a little long, and because the dress did not flatter my figure.

I just never feel the desire to wear this. The length of it is too long for me (I'm 5'6"), so it doesn't look quite right. On top of that, it tends to show off my stomach, which I'm not a fan of.
So... this sits in the back of my closet, pretty much untouched.

Thanks for the review! This seems like an awesome dress, but I'm bummed about the length. If it's too long for you and you're 5'6", there's NO WAY it'll fit me right at 5'0"!
