Femme but not Fabulous
The Taffeta Dot Corset by Coquette is a pretty piece when it is on the hanger but the fabric and ruffles don't emphasize good features. This item isn't becoming a favorite in my lingerie collection and I think with the clasps rusting and the plastic boning bending this corset won't last long.

Pros
Cute colors, nice fabrics
Cons
No under-wire/support, ruffles in a very unflattering place
The Taffeta Dot Corset by Coquette is pretty on the hanger but not so flattering in real life. It has removable straps and garters with a lace up corset back. The silk laces are long and allow for the corset to loosen and tighten easily.
The Fabric
This red and black polyester is gorgeous. The corset's sides are covered in black ruffles which add to the width of my hips. The black dots give the fabric a cute lady bug appearance. The corset has velvety lines running down it. The back portion of the corset is all black and the thin satiny laces are also black.
The cups aren't lifted with under-wire and are just composed of ruffles and a thin layer of fabric instead of being sturdy. The garters are black elastic with metal clasps. I appreciate the sturdiness of these garters. They don't strech out too long. I am 5'2 and they barely reach the middle of my thighs when streched. I could see this being a problem for taller wearers. The corset itself is not very long.
The fabrics are all fairly comfortable and all the clasps, garter hooks and rings are metal instead of plastic.
The boning, however, is plastic and a little but to comfortable, this plastic has a lot more give than metal. Plastic will bend and kink. It doesn't feel the same as my metal boned corsets.
The Look
This corset doesn't do well with a typical dominatrix look because of its "cuteness." The lingerie style of this isn't that sexy. The polka dots give it a more whimsical appearance.
Would I Recommend It?
Answer- No, I wouldn't. I like the colors of this piece but I hate the way it fits. The ruffles are extremly unattractive and all the slimming effects of a corset are lost. The breast area has no lift and my breasts look and feel like they have no support.
On the product page there are no pictures of the back of the corset so I thought I would include one. The corset looks the same as in the picture but the added ruffles don't give the desired slimming effect.

Experience
Storage
The Corset was delivered in a plastic bag with its own satin hanger. The hanger is gorgeous and works well as storage.
Cleaning
To keep this clean I would suggest wiping is down with a wet, warm cloth. This piece shouldn't go in the wash as the fabric is delicate and the plastic boning could bend. I would suspect that the metal clasps would rust if exposed to to much water.

Follow-up commentary
4 months after original review
This corset is super uncomfortable and slightly unflattering but the fabric is well made and I took some pictures that show it off a bit. I buy corsets to look slim and give some breast support. Although this is cute it just didn't quite deliver.
Also the hooks in the front are beginning to rust.
