Edgy, Sexy, Slimming
Oh, how I've wanted this dress! I'm so happy to say it's more sexy than I imagined it would be. It slims out my hips and has a edgy appeal that I just love. It will fit the size ranges listed, though there's more room in the cups than given in the chart. It does draw more attention to my tummy than I'd like, but I still love the way it looks. It's a bit difficult to get on and off and makes a strange crinkle noise. Other than the few minor issues, this is one HOT dress.

The Coquette Wetlook Halter Dress is part of Coquette's Darque collection. I've been drooling over this dress on Coquette's site for I can't even remember how long. The day it popped up on Eden you'd have thought I won the lottery I was jumping up and down so much. I quickly requested it and not so patiently awaited its arrival.
PACKAGING
The dress comes on a clear hanger wrapped in a plastic bag for protection. I'm quite surprised this one didn't come with one of the padded hangers, but I have a million of those now so it's not a huge loss. Included in the package is the dress alone - no matching accessories come with it.
SIZE/FIT
The halter dress is available in sizes S, M, L, and XL. I ordered this in a large. For a large my cup size should be a C measuring 38"-40". My waist should measure between 30"-32" with a dress size between 12-14. My hips should measure 40"-42". See the size chart below for additional sizing details.
My current measurements are 31.5" at the waist and 39" at the hip. I wear a 34DD/36D cup. My dress size is an 8. I usually wear the medium comfortably in Coquette lingerie, but from past experience with their dresses have found that the large usually works better for me.
The large is 28.5" long. Under the cups is 13". The waist measures 13.5". The hips measure 18". Each cup is 6.5" across and 5.25" down. The top is halter style and adjustable via tie string.
This dress fit me well, though it was a bit hard to get on over my bust since there's no zipper or other way to loosen it up first. It just pulls over the head. It doesn't feel tight in any area and there's room enough to fit the measurements listed in the size chart. It is clingy, however, so while it will fit that size range note that if you want a looser fit that you should go a size up. The cups have plenty room to accommodate much more than the C cup listed. In fact, if I wear this without a bra there's room left in the cups and I'm not particularly small in the bust area. If you're smaller in the chest, this may end up looking awkward at the top. Pulling the halter string tighter may remedy some of this, but the cups are molded so there's only so much that can be done in that aspect.
I was especially happy with the length of this dress. All my other Coquette dresses fall literally an inch below my butt where I have to pull them down with every step. This one comes a few inches above the knee. It's a length that's short enough to be sexy but not so short that everyone will see your privates. It does ride up some, but not enough that I felt the need to yank it down due to being too short.
DESIGN
The design of this dress is what drew me to it in the first place. The top begins with a red wetlook material with a lace overly and string making up the halter top. The red and black design continues down through the cups. The cups are molded and there are visible seams on the outside that add to the edge of the design. Underneath the cups is a thick strip of black wetlook material. From this point, the red and black continues down the center of the dress while the sides and back is made of a solid black wetlook material that's runched up.
The dress design minimizes hip flaws due to the runching of the material in that area. The stripe down the middle in the red material also slims the body down. Due to the cling of the material, the stomach area is the one section that flaws are not hidden well. I felt like my stomach looked larger than it actually is in the center area since the attention is pulled to that part of the dress. Aside from that, the design is sexy, edgy, and works well at slimming down the figure.
As mentioned, the cups are molded on the inside. There is a thin bit of padding in them, not enough to do anything like add a cup size.

Experience
MATERIAL
The dress is made of 80% nylon and 20% spandex exclusive of trim. The outer wetlook material feels slick to the touch. The red wetlook with lace has a strange feeling, like rubbing lace over a slip and slide. The lace is flowered and about average in thickness. The overall thickness of the dress is a little thicker than a bathing suit would be.
The inside of the dress is lined with material that feels like a grainy version of bathing suit material. It feels like it would be extremely itchy, but it's only slightly so. The weirdest thing about the material is that it makes a crinkle noise when you move in it. I suppose this is due to the grainy inner material rubbing against the slick wetlook material. It's not super loud, but there is a distinct noise with movement.
Here you can see the lace detail and the inner material of the dress:
QUALITY
There are a few loose threads near the seaming. The majority of the seaming lines up well and is finished off properly, but there is one place where some extra material remains. I would say the quality is good, but not perfect.
CARE
I was hoping this dress could be machine washed, but alas no. It must be hand washed in cold water and line dried. I'm so lazy about hand washing things, so I'm a little sad about this, but will hand wash it to keep it in good condition. Also make sure not to bleach or iron it.
EXPERIENCE
After lusting for this dress for so long, I'm more than happy with the product I received. I was concerned that the wetlook material may look cheap in real life, but it looks just as good in person as it does in the photos. I love that the runching thins down my hips some, although I'm not entirely thrilled with the fact that it makes my tummy look larger. Even with that, I still feel sexy as hell in this dress. My husband loves it so much he tried to convince me to keep it on as lingerie after I wore it out the other night. My mother, on the other hand, said it looked slutty and was horrified that I would wear it anywhere but the bedroom. To some extent, I suppose the dress is a bit risque. It does draw a lot of attention to it with the bright red and wetlook material, so be prepared!
