Doesn't Shape But Damn It's Comfy!
I really love animal print, and love pieces that I can wear in and out of the bedroom. This piece is both. If you're looking for a corset that is slimming, you may want to look elsewhere because the boning in this corset is flexible and weak. However, if you're looking for a terribly adorable corset for a fabulous price, this is the one for you.

Pros
inexpensive, cute, modesty panels, stretchy, comfortable material, detachable garters.
Cons
a bit short in length
The Basic Instinct Corset and Thong by Seven ‘til Midnight is available in sizes M-3X/4X. I ordered the size XL. The corset comes with a matching g-string, though it is listed as a thong- but it’s not. The corset also comes with four adjustable, detachable garter straps. I purchased the corset so that I could wear it in public under a cardigan or shrug, but it also is a cute piece for the bedroom as well.
The items arrived in a thick plastic bag with a hanger attached to it. The bag also has a snap closure. You could use the bag for storing the corset in when it’s not in use, but I prefer to just hang my pieces on a hanger in my closet. I like using these snap closure bags for underwear, stockings, etc. Inside of the plastic packaging, there is a large cardboard insert. The insert states the company name, product name, and size. There is also a photo of a model wearing the item on the cardboard insert, showing a front and back view of the model. Inside of the package, the corset was folded, and the garters were already attached to the corset. The thong was also attached to the corset with a plastic piece.
The corset and g-string are 90% nylon and 10% spandex. The corset does have stretch to it. The front of the corset has lining on the inside of it. The lining is mesh-like. The front is stretchy, though not as stretchy as the back because of this lining. The back is extremely stretchy. You can see the lining in the front of the corset in the photo below.
I’ve taken measurements of the corset and g-string laying flat, unstretched. The corset was also laced up tightly so that no skin would be revealed through the lacing, which is the tightest fit (this is the way it arrived). If you need additional measurements, send me a message and I will get them for you.
G-string
Waistband unstretched: 15 ½ inches
Waistband stretched as much as I could: 26 ½ inches
Liner length: 3 inches
Widest part of material that covers your front area: 5 ½ inches
Corset
Length of corset (taken down centre front): 15 inches
Length of corset (taken down centre back): 12 ½ inches
Length of corset (taken from armpit to bottom of corset): 13 inches
Chest (armpit to armpit): 14 ½ inches
Width of bottom of corset: 14 inches
Adjustable, detachable garter strap length: 6 ¼ -8 ¼ inches
The corset does up in the centre front with a black zipper. Also, the back centre of the corset laces up which can be used to adjust for sizing. Beneath the lace up area, there is a piece of fabric that measures 2 ¼ inches wide. The flap of fabric is used to cover your skin so that it is not revealed through the lacing. Of course, it’s only 2 ¼ inches wide, so if you need to loosen the lace more than that, then you will have skin revealed through. There is also a flap of fabric beneath the zipper so it doesn’t bother or pinch your skin.
There are 10 plastic, flexible boning pieces in the corset; 4 in the front, 4 in the back, and 1 down each side of the corset. The boning really does not do any sort of shaping because of how flimsy it is.
There are 2 long laces in total that run down the back centre of the corset. They remind me of cheap shoelace. This shoelace string can be replaced with a nice thick black ribbon, or whatever you feel looks good. You don’t have to replace the original laces it comes with if you do not want to. With the corset laced up fully (no skin showing through- tightest fit) there is approximately 22 inches of lace left over, so there is a lot of lace to adjust the width of the corset accordingly.
The 4 garter straps are detachable if you prefer the corset without them. Since I purchased this corset with the intent to wear it out, I don’t use the garter straps. The loops to attach the garters are on the inside of the bottom of the corset, so it doesn’t look awkward if you choose not to wear them. There are no shoulder strap loops.

Experience
...continued
There is no padding or underwire in the chest area of the corset. The inner lining in the corset makes it so that your nipple outline does not show through the material. The g-string that is included has the same animal print pattern as the corset does. There is a short lining in the g-string as well in the shape of a triangle. The g-string is comfortable enough to be worn as an everyday-style panty. The corset is also very comfortable. The material did not bother my skin at all while wearing it.
The care tag states that the items should be hand washed in cold water and line dried. The items should also not be bleached or ironed.
Overall, I’m very happy with this piece. It’s inexpensive, comfortable, and cute. The corset does absolutely no shaping whatsoever, but it’s still a cute piece to wear as a top or bedroom piece with the garters. The only small issue I had with the top is that it’s a bit short. In the photos below you will be able to my chubby hips popping out from beneath the corset. This isn’t a huge deal to me, but it would have been nice if it were just a tad bit longer.
