Cute Costume
The Alice Costume by Coquette is a really cute outfit but there are a few differences with the real outfit vs. the stock photo. As long as you're okay with the few differences, you'll like the outfit. It's comfortable, stretchy, and really adorable. The dress is opaque and has a decent length so it's perfect to wear out for Halloween or a costume party.

Pros
Inexpensive, stretchy, comfortable, cute, includes stockings, dress length.
Cons
Sizes offered, skirt is not puffy, no padding/underwire in chest area, stocking length.
The Alice costume by Coquette is offered in size S/M, M/L, and 1X/2X. I wear a size XL and I hate when outfits are offered in a size up and a size down from what I actually am. Usually I avoid outfits like this but I thought the Alice outfit was really cute. I decided to purchase the 1X/2X. I figured I’d rather have a bit of looseness in areas than it being too tight for comfort.
The costume arrived in a plastic, durable bag with a hanger attached to the top of it. The bag also has snap closures. The front of the packaging has a cardboard insert in it that states the company name, company website, product name, contents, colour, and size. There is also a photo of a model wearing the outfit. I usually keep my costumes in a drawer or in my closet. I don’t find the packaging to be ideal for storing the costume but I do like these bags to separate my nice underwear, pantyhose, etc.
The outfit includes the dress, headband, and thigh highs. It is 80% nylon and 20% spandex, exclusive of trim. The dress and thigh highs have a lot of stretch to them. The outfit does not become sheer the more it is stretched. Below are a few measurements of the outfit laying flat, unstretched. If you need additional measurements, send me a private message and I’ll get them for you.
Thigh Highs
Width at top of thigh high, unstretched: 8 ¼ inches
Width at top of thigh high, stretched as much as I could: 16 ½ inches
Length of thigh high, unstretched: 32 ½ inches
Length of thigh high stretched as much as I could: 60 inches
Dress
Chest (armpit to armpit): 20 ½ inches
Adjustable shoulder strap length: 11-20 ¼ inches
Hips (taken right above apron): 20 ½ inches
Length of dress (armpit to bottom): 28 inches
The thigh highs have a black and white checker pattern to them. At the top front of each stocking there is a big black bow made of ribbon. The bow is about 5 inches wide and not detachable. There is a seam line that runs down the very back of each stocking. The toe areas are not reinforced but the material is thicker than most stockings and is durable without the reinforcement.
The included headband is pretty basic. It’s a flexible plastic headband covered in white fabric. The headband is approximately ½ of an inch thick. It’s flexible so it should fit most heads, regardless of the size. There is a black bow at the side of the headband. The bow is made of ribbon and is 3 ½ inches wide. The bow is just above 3 ½ inches from the bottom of the headband. It cannot be slid around to adjust its placement because it’s sewn to the white fabric covering.
The dress is cute, but not exactly what I had expected after seeing the stock photo. If you take a look at the stock photo of the model in the 1X/2X size, it looks as though there are cups to the dress. There isn’t actually anything at the chest. No padding, no underwire, no mould for your breasts. That being said, if you are concerned about nipple outline, you’ll want to wear a pair of pasties beneath the dress because the material is very thin. The model is clearly wearing a bra beneath the outfit.
The second thing that seemed different to me was the bottom of the dress. In the stock photo, the skirt looks puffy. There’s nothing puffy about the skirt to the dress. If anything, I’d say it’s droopy. You’ll need to wear a petticoat or similar item beneath the skirt if you want it to fluff out like in the stock photo.
The shoulder straps to the outfit are adjustable but not detachable. The straps are also stretchy so they should work for most people in terms of length. At the top front of the dress, there is a white flap of fabric that has a ruffle trim to it. This flap only sits at the front of the dress. At the very centre top of the dress, there is a black and white checker bow with a black round button at the centre of it. The bow is approximately 7 inches wide and is not detachable.
Down the centre front of the dress there is a white panel with three round black buttons on each side. This panel is trimmed with a lace that looks embroidered. The panel is about 6 inches wide. You can see all of this detail in the photo below. Beneath the panelled area is a white strip of fabric.

Experience
...continued
This strip goes all the way around to the back of the dress. This strip is just less than 1 ½ inches.
Beneath the strip of fabric is the apron. The apron is 8 ½ inches wide (taken at the top) with a length of 6 ½ inches (taken down centre). Those measurements don’t include the ruffle trim to the apron. The ruffle trim is approximately 1 inch. The apron is white in colour with a black bow made of ribbon sitting on the side. The bow is 3 ¾ inches wide and is not detachable. The very bottom of the dress is trimmed with white ruffle. The ruffle is 1 inch and goes around the entire dress.
So when I tried on the dress, I wore a very padded bra with it. My chest is a C cup. I needed that padding to not only cover my nipple outline, but to fill out the top portion of the dress. There is lots of room in the chest area so a few cups larger than me should work fine as well. Like I said, my bra was super padded.
The headband fit well and should fit anyone. The stockings are just odd. They are really lengthy. I’m 5’6 in height and I had to pull them up quite high because they have so much length to them. Also, the top area of the thigh highs don’t have silicone band so I had to pull them up high to stay on my legs. The problem with the pantyhose not having a silicone band is that they like to fall down my leg when I walk.
The photos above show a front view, side view, back view, and a stretch view. That last photo is the “stretch view”. Basically that’s just showing you how much room there was in the dress for me, and how stretchy the piece actually is. My hip measurement is 41 inches.
The material to the dress and thigh highs is really soft so they’re both comfortable to wear. I did not have any issues with skin irritation while wearing the outfit. The care tag states that the outfit should be hand washed only and hung to dry.
Overall, it’s a cute outfit but not exactly like pictured. I had a hard time deciding if the outfit was a 3 or 4 stars rating out of 5. I decided to go with three stars because there were more than a couple things that I consider cons. Firstly, the stockings are very lengthy. I’m 5’6, which is average height (I think). If I pulled them up to where they could be, the bows would no longer show. Secondly, there is no padding or anything at the chest area. The stock photo makes it seem like there is something there. Thirdly, the skirt is not puffy so you need to purchase or already own a petticoat.
