Could be a great piece for the right body type, but wasn't a good fit for me
I'm honestly very disappointed in this item and feel that it does not live up to my expectations of Coquette based on the other pieces from this collection that I own. I think it is also overpriced and I regret buying it.

It's a sad day on the internet when I, the lover of all things Coquette, have to wipe away my tears and write a bad review for my favourite lingerie brand. Well, I wouldn't quite say this is a bad review but there are a few issues with this piece that are enough to make me regret buying it.
First of all the Wetlook Chemise by Coquette is part of their Darque series - I have a few other pieces from this collection and am very pleased with all of them, this being the one exception (so far). It's a nylon and spandex chemise with lace paneling and wet-look sections. The back is a hook-and-eye closure and there are adjustable straps, as well as removable garters.
The Good:
I really like the way this chemise looks. The wet-look and lace are quite attractive and the overall construction of this garment is pretty good quality. Everything has been evenly sewn together and there are no snags or loose threads. The straps are the adjustable bra strap type that leave a lot of room to make it tighter or more loose and the garters are also adjustable and removable. I like the way this outfit looks on my body and find it to be quite flattering.
This chemise is short but I don't really consider it to be a bad thing. I'm 6 feet tall so it's not a short dress on me like the model in the photo, but rather a long shirt. I'm okay with that and am used to most clothing fitting me this way so I did not take off points for this but it is something to be aware of before purchase.
For reference, I bought this in size large and I am 6'0" tall, 170lbs, with 38C breasts, a 32" waist, and 42" hips.
The Bad:
Probably the only thing I really dislike about the garment but it's a pretty big deal: the cups fit very strangely. Even though they are the correct size for my breasts, the cups tend to sit on top of my body rather than over/under my breasts like they should. I elaborated on this issue in the video portion of my review because it's a difficult thing to describe in words, so please check that out to see what I'm talking about.

Follow-up commentary

Really, really love the way this chemise looks so I've tried to wear it a few more times but the fit is just too annoying. It has been banished to my closet forever.

Thanks! I am also very tall, so I love reviews from other women of my height for lingerie. And I had the same cup issue with a piece I just reviewed - they just don't sit right and move when I do. I'm starting to suspect that this type of outfit shouldn't have underwires or padding unless it's going to be fitted like a bra and come in specific band sizes, too.

Thanks so much for your review! I really appreciate the video portion because you explained the problem with this chemise that I have had with others. I was looking to purchase this and it has been highly recommended by others who like the "look" of it, but you point out a lot of things that I had questions about that you answered quite well. Thanks!
