Bum Cheek Pirate
The Pirate Pin Up Costume by DreamGirl is really cute and was a lot of fun to wear. I'm a bit disappointed that I can't really wear the outfit in public (costume parties, etc) because of how my bum cheeks stick out the bottom of the dress. Still, it's cute, comfortable, and would be perfect for those who are a bit shorter than me or for those who just want to wear the costume in the bedroom!

Pros
5 piece costume, cute, comfortable material, can be worn for role play and/or costume parties.
Cons
pricey, not exactly like stock photo, a bit short.
I purchased the Pirate Pin Up Costume by DreamGirl because I thought it would make a great outfit for role-play in the bedroom, but also double as a costume that could be worn for Halloween or to a costume party. There are a lot of great costumes out there for the bedroom, but a lot of them are too revealing for me to wear out to a party, etc. I thought the pirate outfit was perfect because it’s sexy, but not exposing. The outfit is available in sizes S-XL. I purchased the size XL.
The outfit arrived in a durable plastic bag on a hanger. The bag has a snap closure to it. The bag is good for storing the outfit when it’s not being worn, but I personally like using these bags to store other things in (stockings, panties, etc). I hang the costume on a regular hanger in my closet.
In the bag, there is a cardboard insert that states the contents of the bag, costume name, size, company name, and company website. There is also a photo of a model wearing the outfit on the cardboard piece. There is 5 pieces to this costume; the corset dress, detachable adjustable shoulder straps, sleeves, belt, and scarf. The cardboard piece states that the XL is best suited for those between the weight brackets of 160-180lbs. I’m probably around 165lbs.
Inside of the bag, the dress is wrapped around a large piece of cardboard. The sleeves, belt, and scarf are in a plastic bag. The corset dress is 57% polyester and 43% rayon. There were no care tags in the other pieces of the costume so I am not certain of their material composition. The front of the corset dress does not have any stretch to it, though the back is stretchy. The headscarf has a bit of stretch but it’s so lengthy that I really don’t think you’ll need to stretch it. The sleeves do not have stretch to them in length but they have elastic band at the top and bottom to stay on your arms. The belt has no stretch.
I’ve taken measurements of the costume pieces laying flat, unstretched. If you need additional measurements please send me a message and I can get them for you.
Belt
Length: 34 ½ inches
Width: 2 inches
Sleeves
Length: 19 ½ inches
Elastic band at wrist, unstretched: 3 ¼ inches
Elastic band at wrist, stretched as much as I could: 7 inches
Elastic band at top of arm, unstretched: 4 ½ inches
Elastic band at top of arm, stretched as much as I could: 9 inches
Headscarf
Length: 62 inches
Width: 4 ¾ inches
Corset Dress
Chest (armpit to armpit): 15 inches
Width beneath chest: 14 ½ inches
Width at bottom of dress: 19 inches
Length of dress (armpit to bottom): 22 ½ inches
Adjustable shoulder straps: 8 ½ -16 ¾ inches
Length of chest area: 5 ¼ inches
Ruffle trim along the top of the chest: ¾ inches
The dress has 4 plastic boning pieces beneath the chest that are 8-9 inches long. At the top centre of the dress, there is a 4 inch lace up area which laces up with a thin black ribbon. Beneath the lacing, there is a 10 ½ inch (length) zipper. The back of the dress is plain black; there is no decoration.
The dress is a fine length for me in the front (while it’s short, it doesn’t reveal anything) but the back shows the bottom of my bum cheeks. I’m 5’6 and I don’t think I would wear this in public without wearing a pair of leggings because of the bum being exposed. I can pull the outfit down just enough to cover my bum but once I start moving around it goes higher. This shouldn’t be a problem for those shorter than my height, or those with a less chubby bum.
The chest of the corset dress does not have any padding or underwire. I didn’t wear a bra with the outfit because the material is thick enough not to reveal any nipple outline. The shoulder straps are detachable so they do not need to be worn with the costume. I personally like wearing shoulder straps to hold the top up.
The belt is black in colour with a gold coloured buckle and eyelets. There are 5 eyelets at the end of the belt to buckle to. There are approximately 1 ½ inches between each eyelet. I had to have the belt on the loosest eyelet for it to fit me. The scarf is just a really long piece of black fabric.

Experience
...continued
The sleeves are white and sheer. There is a ruffle above each elastic band (top of arm and wrist), though the more you need to stretch this elastic band, the less ruffled it appears. Instead it just looks like a flap of material.
The material of the outfit was comfortable and I didn’t experience any irritation to my skin while wearing it. The care tag states that the outfit should be dry cleaned only.
Below you can see a front and side view of the outfit on me. You can see that with the XL outfit, the front doesn’t look the same as the stock photo. Instead of the red and gold patterned area going to the sides of the outfit (like the stock photo), there is black on the sides. Also, my boobs do not look perfect like the models in the stock photo. No matter what I did (push, pull, lift, tuck) they didn’t want to work with this outfit. I wear a C cup, and my chest fit fine. There is definitely room in the chest if you loosen the front ties for a cup size up. The belt underneath the chest JUST fit me luckily.
Overall, the costume was fun to wear but it’s a bummer that it’s so short in the back on me because I can’t see myself wearing something so short out. The shortness is the reason I’ve deducted a star in the rating. The outfit is well made though and very cute. It’d be great for someone with a flatter bum or shorter height.
