The Sweetheart Bustier by Coquette is a quality piece of lingerie at an affordable price. Accent trim adorns both the sweetheart bust line, and the bottom of bustier. The trim extends to the sides of the corset, and then turns into a plain band of material. This bustier has plastic boning covered in a satiny material, in four areas on the front of the corset. One area of boning is located towards the middle of each breast, and the other is located on the sides. The middle of the bustier has a line of satiny fabric adorned with seven round shiny decorative black buttons. In between the boning is a shiny black material stitched with a lighter black floral brocade. The detailing of the brocade is very pretty and adds character to this piece.

The back of this bustier is made out of a stretchy unadorned fabric, which gives the bustier a little give when it comes to sizing. It closes with a hook and eye closure at the back of the piece. There's two rows of hooks on the back of the bustier, so it can be worn a little tighter or looser. The piece is very comfortable to wear, and since the material is flexible it allows more movement than a traditional corset. Since it doesn't stitch up in the back, make sure you get the appropriate size, because although this piece is somewhat flexible the material only allows a certain amount of give. The bustier has a length of 30 inches, but it can be stretched to about 32 inches without putting too much strain on the material. The height of the bustier is 12 inches at it's longest point, and 10 inches at it's shortest point.

The right side of the bustier has a piece of ribbon with a coquette lips charm made out of metal.There's a tag attached to the inside of the back of the corset with red lips and the company name Coquette. On the back of the tag is material information, and washing instructions. The Sweetheart Bustier is composed of 57% cotton, and 43% acetate. It should be hand washed in cold water only, drip dry, do not bleach, do not iron.

I was surprised by just how durable this bustier turned out to be. Since the material on the back is stretchy, this piece allows more movement than a traditional corset would. It has the looks of a corset, without the stiffness that accompanies many corsets. The only area that has shown any wear on this bustier is one part of the trim where a string came undone. I fixed this by merely cutting off the lose string. Cutting the string didn't effect the rest of the trim, and it isn't noticeable that it's missing unless you are specifically looking for it.

This piece is more for looks than for shaping. If you're looking for a piece to slim you're waistline and create curves I would suggest purchasing a piece like the Brocade Corset by Coquette which is very similar in looks, but should provide more shaping. Although this piece doesn't add to your curves, it does a nice job of displaying what you have. The sweetheart bust line beautifully shows off your cleavage, and although the bustier doesn't slim your waistline it does smooth the area a little bit.

The mannequin in the picture for this bustier is also wearing a pretty lace up matching skirt. This skirt is not included with the bustier. That being said, I highly recommend purchasing the matching skirt to complete the outfit. Edenfantasy's carries the skirt, but sadly it's in a different lace pattern. I found the skirt elsewhere online, and with it's addition to the bustier this has become one of my favorite outfits.

This Bustier came packaged in a plastic bag, and had a little booklet attached to it with pictures of the bustier and matching skirt in different colors. Apparently this specific piece is available in red with black boning and trim, and all white in addition to the all black one.
