Beautiful Betty
The Betty Corset by Leg Avenue is absolutely beautiful. I wear an XL and can sometimes fit into the 1X sizes. I figured that I could tighten the lacing down the centre back to make this outfit fit me. Sadly, that was not the case. This "1X/2X" corset is actually a 2X. So if you're on the lower end of the suggested measurements for the bracket, it may be too loose on you. It's really a shame that this isn't offered in more sizes because it is well made and gorgeous.

Pros
Gorgeous, quality, opaque, width can be adjusted with lacing down centre back, comfortable.
Cons
not available in a variety of sizes, the 1X/2X is actually just a 2X, stock photo colour difference.
The Betty Corset by Leg Avenue is available in the colours red, fuchsia, or blue and only in size 1X/2X. Typically I wear a size XL but I figured that with the lacing down the centre back, I’d be able to tie it tighter if I needed to. I purchased the fuchsia coloured corset because I fell in love with the colour as soon as I had seen it. You’ll notice in my photos though that the colour is different than what it looks in the stock photo. It’s not purple-ish like the stock photo- it’s more of a hot pink.
The corset arrived in a plastic bag. There were no text or photos on the bag other than a white sticker with a barcode on it. There was a cardboard tag attached to the corset. The front of the tag stated the company name, product name, size, and had a photo of a model wearing the corset. The back of the tag has the same information as the front as well as care instructions, material composition, and company contact information. The packaging is not ideal for storage. I keep my corsets on a hanger in my closet.
The corset is 50% nylon and 50% polyester, exclusive of decoration. The material is thick and durable. There is no stretch to the material and it is not sheer. Though there is no stretch, you can always loosen the lacing down the centre back if you need more width. There is a modesty panel behind the lace area down the centre back. The panel is 6 inches wide. This means that you can loosen that lacing quite a bit and the modesty panel will cover the bare skin beneath the open lacing.
I’ve taken a few measurements of the corset laying flat, not stretched. The lacing was done up with no gap so it was the tightest fit. If you need additional measurements, send me a message and I will get them for you.
Chest (armpit to armpit): 20 ¼ inches
Waist: 17 inches
Hips: 21 inches
Length (down side): 12 ¼ inches
Length (down centre back): 11 ½ inches
There are 10 plastic boning pieces to the corset: 4 down the back, 4 in the front, and 1 on each side. The four boning pieces down the front have black covers to them. The covers are shiny and have a bit of a wet look. They are ½ of an inch wide each. It reminds me of PVC material though I can’t say for certain that is what it is. Each of the 4 bones down the centre of the corset has a ruffle trim running down the length of the bone. The ruffle is ¾ of an inch and is the same colour as the corset with a black trim.
There are 2 closures to the corset. The first closure would be the lacing down the centre back. It’s not actually lace that does the back centre up- it’s more like shoe string. There are 18 silver coloured eyelets (9 on each side). The shoestring to lace the back up is quite lengthy so you have quite a bit of room for width adjustment. If you needed more width, you could always replace the shoestring with a longer ribbon.
The second closure to the corset is the black zipper that runs down the centre front of the piece. The zipper is concealed for the most part except for at the very top where the tab sits. There are no loops of fabric inside of the corset to attach shoulder straps or garter straps to. There is also no padding or underwire in the chest area of the corset. Even though there is no padding, you can wear the piece without a bra because the material is thicker. Nipple outline cannot be seen through the material.
The hip area of the corset is quite wide. It’s perfect for those who have curvy hips. The hip areas have PVC looking accents, which match the boning covers at the front of the piece. At the top of the hip areas, there is a black bow made of ribbon. The bows are just over 3 inches wide so they are fairly large. The bows are not detachable but you could permanently remove them with a seam ripper if you didn’t like them.

Experience
...continued
So as I mentioned at the beginning of the review, I wear a size XL but can sometimes fit into the 1X sizes. I figured with the outfit being 1X/2X, I could tighten the lacing down the centre back so it would fit me. Unfortunately, this was not the case. The product page lists the corset as a 1X/2X but the tag on the corset says it is a 2X. So when you look at the size chart, you want to be on the higher end of the 1X/2X suggested measurements.
Typically I take photos of myself wearing the pieces for my corset reviews but decided not to with this piece. It’s too large on me in every area even with the lacing done up as tightly as I could. The size chart suggests a C cup for the 1X/2X clothing but I can tell you that my C cups were swimming. There was room for another cup or two. My hip measurement is 41 inches and like my chest, my hips were swimming. You’ll want to have your hip measurements closer to 46 inches (the highest in the bracket).
I wasn’t able to fit nicely into this piece but the inner material is really nice and soft against the skin. If this piece were available in a size that fit me, I’d be happy to wear the piece for extended periods of time without any skin irritation. The care tag states that the corset should be hand washed in warm water and drip-dried. Only non-chlorine bleach should be used when needed and the corset should not be ironed.
Overall, I think it’s a beautiful corset, durable, and would make a great piece both in and out of the bedroom. If this piece were available in a size that actually fit me, I’d buy all three colours available.

Follow-up commentary

This was such a beautiful piece. It saddens me that it didn't fit me like I had wanted it to. I ended up giving this away to a friend. She loves it and it fits her perfectly. I still am hoping that this becomes available in other sizes!
