I didn't find this pair of stockings to be all that great, and definitely not worth the price. I don't mind spending money on quality products, but these thigh highs look and feel cheaply made. The backseam is just a line of thread, not an actual seam, which I doubt was how they were made in the 40's and 50's when pantyhose and stockings usually actually had a seam. I'm too young to know for sure, but I'm pretty sure these are "mock" seamed.

Also, I don't have a garter belt or clips, but based a few reviews, I didn't think I needed them. I was definitely wrong about that. I'm a size 8, and they constantly kept falling down. I wore them swing dancing one night, and I kept feeling them shift or slide while we danced. I was constantly worrying that they would slip all the way down my thighs and show, so I wouldn't say they were comfortable to wear. Other than that, though, I couldn't feel a difference in wearing them compared to wearing another pair of dollar-store pantyhose.

I was hoping these stockings would be thicker and sturdier. After all, I can get a very good pair of full pantyhose for $10, and I'm not getting the control top with these. My nails kept catching on the thin material as I put them on, so take care not to put a hole or run in them. I washed them in a lingerie bag in the washer and dryer (low heat), and they came out fine. After going dancing that night, I only expect them to last another night or two before I either put a hole in them accidentally (which is how almost all of my pantyhose expire as well), or by ripping as I adjust them. They just don't feel strong enough to last longer, though I may be proven wrong (and I hope I am!).

Since I bought these primarily for swing dancing, I don't think they are a good fit for me without trying garters. If you are planning on wearing them in the bedroom for non-rough play or if you want to wear them for everyday clothing or a costume, they will probably hold up better than my expectations. If, like me, you are planning to be more active in them, then I'd look for a tougher, higher-quality pair.

I've worn these swing dancing a few times, but I'm still not impressed. They slide down quite a bit, and I kept having to yank them up again. Garters seem to be a necessity, and I haven't gotten any to try yet. I stick by my 2 star rating...these are great for trying out, but not high-quality stockings.
