Accentuating My Chub
The Elizabeth Bustier and G-String by Seven ‘til Midnight is an inexpensive, cute bustier but I had a few issues with it. Firstly, there is an elastic band along the bottom of the entire bustier. Being a size XL, I've got some tummy chub. The elastic band grabs below your belly, which actually accentuates any chub you may have. Secondly, the plastic boning does not sit nicely against the body (I believe because of the elastic bottom). It doesn't work for me, but maybe you'll have better luck.

Pros
inexpensive, comfortable, stretchy, detachable/adjustable straps, padding/underwire.
Cons
elastic band along bottom of bustier, boning is too flexible and ends up looking funky.
The Elizabeth Bustier and G-String by Seven ‘til Midnight is available in sizes S-XL. I purchased the XL. The bustier arrived in a clear plastic bag. There was no text or photos on the bag. The bag is not idea for storing the bustier when you’re not wearing it. I keep my bustier on a hanger in my closet. Attached to the bustier was a cardboard tag stating the company name, company website, size of bustier, and had a photo of a model wearing the piece.
The bustier comes with a matching g-string, 4 garter straps, and 2 shoulder straps. The outfit is 80% polyester and 20% polyamide. The material is ridiculously stretchy. I’ve taken measurements of the outfit laying flat, unstretched. If you need additional measurements, please send me a message and I will get them for you.
Straps
Garter straps adjustable length: 6 ¼ - 10 ¾ inches
Shoulder straps adjustable length: 9- 16 ½ inches
G-String
Waistband unstretched: 14 ¼ inches
Waistband stretched as much as I could: 28 inches
Widest part of material that covers your front area: 5 ¾ inches
Liner length: 2 ¾ inches
Bustier
Chest (armpit to armpit): 16 inches
Cup length: 6 inches
Cup width: 8 ½ inches
Length of bustier (armpit to bottom of ruffle): 16 ½ inches
Length of bustier down centre back: 12 ¼ inches
Width at bottom of bustier: 14 inches
Width of black panel down centre of bustier: 6 ½ inches
The measurements of the bustier are with the hook and eye closures done up on the first row of eyes (loosest fit). There are three rows of eye closures down the centre back of the piece. There are 17 eyes in each row and the rows have a ½ inch space between them. The bustier has 6 plastic boning pieces: 2 down the front, 2 down the back, and 1 on each side. The boning is flexible plastic and will not do any shaping for you.
The material is very soft and thin. Down the centre front of the bustier, there is a black vertical panel. This area is opaque (not sheer). The rest of the bustier has a zebra print pattern to it, with horizontal lines throughout the pattern. These horizontal lines are sheer so your skin shows through these lined areas. The only exception to this is the pattern on the cups. The cups are padded and do not have any sheerness to them. There is also underwire to the cups.
There are hot pink accents to the bustier which are the detachable shoulder straps, the bow between the cups, the two bows at the bottom of the bustier, and the trim on the ruffle that runs along the bottom of the bustier and around the to the back. The 3 pink bows on the bustier are not detachable but you could probably remove them permanently if you didn’t like them. I think they’re sort of cute so I’m keeping them on.
The black mesh ruffle trim that runs along the bottom of the bustier is sheer. This trim, when stretched, will look less ruffled. I’m not a fan of the bottom of this bustier because above the mesh trim, there is elastic band running around the entire bottom of the bustier. I have another piece by this company that has the elastic band at the bottom and while the piece was beautiful, the elastic band really annoyed me. Basically what this elastic band will do is “cup” any chub that you tummy may have. This wouldn’t be an issue for those with a thinner tummy area but being an XL, I’d prefer no elastic band grabbing my stomach fat.
All of the straps to the bustier are detachable. I like wearing bustiers beneath a nice cardigan out in public so I rarely get any use out of the included garter straps. I do like using the shoulder straps though to hold the top up. All of the loops to attach the straps (both shoulder and garter) are on the inside of the bustier so it doesn’t look odd if you choose not to wear them. If you plan on wearing the outfit in the bedroom with the garter straps, you’ll need to have a pair of thigh highs already or invest in a pair. This bustier does not come with any stockings. The g-string is comfortable enough to be worn as an everyday-style panty.

Experience
...continued
Since the material is so darn stretchy, it’s very easy to put the bustier on by yourself. All you do is wrap the bustier around your body with the hook and eye closures at the front of your body. Do the hook and eye closures up on the row that you feel is appropriate for you, and once they’re done up, twist the bustier so that the hook and eye closures sit down the centre back and the cups are at the front. My C cups filled the bustier cups. A D cup might be able to fit into the cups but nothing larger.
The length of the bustier was good for me. I can’t stand when a bustier is too short on the sides, etc because I usually wear these types of pieces out in public. I didn’t have that issue with this bustier. The issue that I did have was with the elastic bottom. When I realized this piece had an elastic bottom, I already knew it was going to be un-sexy. Wearing the bustier just confirmed this. I wore the bustier on the first row of eye closures (tightest fit) and the elastic band at the bottom grabbed my fat and basically highlighted it.
The second thing I did not like with this bustier is how flexible the boning is. Rather than the boning forming with my body, the boning pieces stuck out in areas, making my already highlighted chub look even more awkward. I have quite a few pieces that have plastic boning and this does not happen with the others. I think that the elastic band really plays a big part in the awkwardness of the boning. Below are a couple of photos of me wearing the bustier (which I did not want to put up). The first photo is a front view and the second is a side view. You can see in both photos that the elastic band is sitting below my chubby belly. The elastic band sort of “cuts” into the chubbiness of my hips and belly (excuse my leopard pyjama pants I was too lazy to change).
Other than those few issues, the material is really comfortable against the skin. I did not experience any skin irritation while wearing the piece. The care tag states that the outfit should be hand washed in cold water and line dried. The piece should not be bleached or ironed.
Overall, this piece does not work for me. It seems to actually work against me. I’ve given the piece a 3 out of 5 because the elastic band is terrible and because of the elastic band, the boning sits awkwardly against my body. Needless to say, I won’t be wearing this bustier out in public. This piece would probably work a lot better for those who do not have any tummy fat, or have much less than I do.

You're welcome love!

I actually think this looks quite flattering! I don't find that it accentuates anything negative
-
Aww thanks so much Lauren : ) I've never been fond if the elastic band though at the bottom of the pieces. It grabs my flab and makes me feel very self-concious.
