A New Favourite
Everything about the Satin and Lace Corset by Coquette is one gigantic YES! I own a ridiculous amount of bustiers and corsets and this one is definitely a new favourite. It's a gorgeous piece that can be worn both in and out of the bedroom. It's comfortable and high quality. I'd absolutely recommend this corset.

Pros
gorgeous, comfortable, width can be added with lacing, high quality, detachable adjustable straps.
Cons
sash is not detachable (I like the sash but others may not).
I recently purchased the Satin and Lace Corset by Coquette in size XL. The piece is offered in sizes S-3X/4X. I had previously purchased and reviewed a very similar bustier but the bustier was only offered in sizes S-L and the size large was too tight on me. I was so happy to see this corset offered in size XL because I felt the colour and lace pattern was absolutely gorgeous!
The corset arrived on a black padded Coquette hanger. The piece had a plastic bag surrounding it. The bag did not have any text or photos on it. The hanger is excellent to use to store the corset in your closet when it is not being worn. There was a cardboard tag attached to the corset with a few photos of a model wearing the piece, the company name, company website, product name, colour, and size. Also attached to the corset were 2 small zip lock styled bags. One of the bags held the 6 detachable garter straps while the other held the 2 shoulder straps.
The corset is 100% polyester (exclusive of trim). The material to the corset does not have any stretch to it. Luckily though, the centre back of the corset laces up so you can add width to the piece by loosening the lacing. I’ve taken measurements of the corset lying flat and with the lacing at the back done up the way it was when it arrived. The lacing was done up tightly, with no gap. If you need additional measurements, let me know and I can get them for you.
Chest (armpit to armpit): 16 ¾ inches
Length of corset (armpit to bottom): 15 ½ inches
Width of bottom of corset: 18 inches
Adjustable, detachable garter strap length: 5- 8 ¼ inches
Adjustable, detachable shoulder strap length: 9- 16 ¼ inches
There are 10 plastic boning pieces to the corset; 4 down the front and 6 in the back. The corset has hook and eye closures down the centre front of the piece. There are 2 rows of eyes, with 14 eyes in each row. The rows are approximately a ½ inch away from each other. The measurements I had taken above are with the hook and eye closures done up on the second row of eyes (the tightest fit).
The included garter straps and shoulder straps are optional to wear with the corset since they are detachable. The loops to attach the straps are on the inside of the piece so if you choose not to wear them it won’t look odd. I rarely get any use out of the garter straps included with bustiers and corsets because I like wearing these pieces in public. I prefer wearing the shoulder straps to hold the piece up. This corset is not sheer whatsoever so it’s perfect to wear both in and/or out of the bedroom. Below you can see a photo of a shoulder and garter strap that comes with the corset. The strap on the top is the shoulder strap, and the bottom strap is the garter.
The sash to the corset is not detachable. The sash is sewn to the very back of the corset. I suppose you could cut it off if you really didn’t like it but I would not risk ruining the corset to detach it. The ties to the sash are 31 inches each. The sash is a thick (1 ½ inches) black ribbon that ties at the front of the corset.
The lacing down the centre back of the corset is also black ribbon, though the lacing ribbon is only ½ an inch thick so it is much thinner than the sash. The lacing ribbon is quite long but if you find that you need extra width (more than the lacing provides), you could always replace the black ribbon with a longer piece from the craft store. There is no modesty panel beneath the lacing so the more you need to loosen the lacing, the more skin will be exposed. I had to try to loosen the lacing for myself when I had first worn it because my partner was not around. I suggest having a friend or partner around to help you tighten the lacing once you have it on.

Experience
The lace floral pattern to the corset is gorgeous. When I had reviewed the bustier, which is similar to this piece, I had found that the lacing pattern to the bustier was very uneven. This corset does have a bit of uneven lace pattern at the front of the piece at the centre bottom. It is not very noticeable, especially when you compare it to the bustier, but I figured it was worth noting. I’ve taken a photo of the centre bottom of the corset. You can see below that the floral pattern doesn’t line up with the pattern on the opposite side of the hook and eye closures. It’s not terribly noticeable, but it’s there.
This corset is so comfortable! I did not experience any irritation to my skin while wearing it. The inner lining of the corset is actually very soft against the skin. The care tag states that the piece should be hand washed only and hung to dry.
Overall, I’m in love with this corset. I love everything about it. The length works well for me, the ribbon lacing is long so I was able to loosen it enough to fit me without needing to replace it, the colour is gorgeous, the material is comfortable, and it’s perfect to wear out for an evening. I have no complaints about this piece whatsoever. This piece is now one of my favourites that I own. I just love it!
Below are a few photo of me wearing the corset. The first photo shows a front view, the second is a side view, and the third is a back view. As I had mentioned, my partner wasn’t around so I had taken these photos myself. The back view photos looks a bit odd. There are 2 reasons for that. 1) I had to do the lacing up myself since no one was around to help me. It could have been a bit tighter. 2) I took that photo with my camera sitting on my shoulder so I’m turning a bit to make sure the back of the corset is in the shot.
