(3x/4x) Love the Robe - The Chemise - Not So Much
I have mixed feelings about this set. I mainly bought this set because I wanted this robe due to its lace and color.
The chemise however is very cheaply made and it wrinkles very easily. While it has a lot of room in the cup area, it does not fit larger women like myself very well.
Then again - at $29.99 what should I expect? I've seen other better made products for $70 and up in my size.
Because my husband loves the robe on me and I feel sexy in it, I'm going to give this 3 stars.

Although I read Tripod's My What Cheap Material You Have Review before buying this, I still felt like I "HAD" to have it. The robe looked so sexy and delicate and my husband's eyes light up when I wear anything that is a sapphire color.
Note to self: Next time listen to reviewers when they say an item is cheaply made.
This set arrived folded up in pink tissue paper. Fortunately, the Dream Girl label was attached to the chemise and not the robe or else the plastic cord might have ruined the fabric. The chemise is made of a very cheap 100% polyester that wrinkles easily. The tags inside the garment state that this set should be hand washed in cold water and line dried. I definitely would hand wash the robe. However, for the chemise, I would think you could wash it on a delicate cycle with cold water if you put it in a lingerie bag and did use the dryer. I would not iron these either, in spite of how easily it wrinkles because I am worried you might damage the fabric.
When I bought this, I knew that I might be buying a set where the chemise was too small. According to Dream Girl, in order to wear a 3x/4x, I should wear size 18/20 clothes. Their recommended measurements are a bust of 48-54 with a DD cup, a waist that is 40-44" and hips that are 50-56". I wear mostly 22/24 clothes although I can wear some tops that are size 20. My bras are 44D, my waist is 49" and my hips are 57". Because of this, I suspected that the chemise might be a tad bit snug around the waist and hips.
However, since the chemise was a v-neck design with straps that crisscross in the back, I hoped I'd have enough support in the breast area to still work. I figured that if worst came to worst, at least I would have the sapphire robe, which was what I really wanted. I'm so glad that I was prepared for the worst case scenario because that is exactly what happened.
Both my daughter and I will be modeling this for you so I would like to share from both our perspectives. Since I am larger than the recommended size. the chemise did as expected and rose up in the back. In addition, it did not give me much breast support and I felt like the girls just sorta halfway hung out there. It did not feel flattering at all. I could pull the chemise up to give them more support but then the chemise just "sat there" on my stomach and I looked like a granny who pulled her pants up to her bra line because she didn't fit in them anymore and was too cheap to go out and buy the correct size.
I thought the chemise would look nicer on my daughter since she is smaller and I was somewhat correct about this. It fit her much better in the shoulder area and the straps across the back were more comfortable for her than they were for me. The chemise hung correctly over her tummy and looked somewhat attractive. But lets face it, the poor gal has her mother's genes when it comes to the breasts and they looked like they needed more support also. Not more room - the cups are a generous size. It needs more support for the breasts.
The more I look at this gown, the more I wonder exactly what body style it was designed for. I think even Barbie would have a hard time looking sexy in this. Part of the problem is a flaw in the design as it isn't made for 'real women' who have something called "breasts" or at least not breasts above a B size cup I think. I wouldn't know as I haven't been a size B since I was 12 year old (and I'm now 51). But also, the fabric that they're using is a cheap fabric and it doesn't drape well over the tummy area if you have any sort of a breast. I wonder if they had gone with a nicer quality of fabric if it would have made a difference.
When it comes to the robe, it is a totally different story. The robe is very forgiving of figure flaws and has a nice length and width to it. I was surprised that it really didn't rise up on my butt like the chemise did. I think the fact that the belt is a generous length really helps in creating a waistline even if you don't have one that you're proud of.

Experience
Because it can be hard to tell exact measurements when seeing something on a person, here are a few things you might like to know. The chemise is 32" long from the shoulder to the hem. There is a 5" split on the sides and the hem itself is 72" in diameter. The straps are 1/2" in length and 27.5" long. You can adjust them.
The gown is 31.5" from the shoulders to the hem. The sleeves are 17" long at the shoulder. The gown is 21" across the shoulder which was plenty of room even for me. The belt is really very nicely made and a nice touch. It is 2" wide and 83" long.
Both my daughter and I will be modeling this set for you.
Here I am in the gown and robe. Once again, I am a 44D with a 49" waist, 57" hips and weigh 265 pounds.
My daughter is size 16/18 and is size 40D with a 43" waist, 49" hips and weighs 205 pounds.
When I look at pictures on here of other women in their lingerie, I get so jealous. It is so hard to find a 2 piece set in my size that looks attractive on me. I find myself faced with buying a set from Eden so that I can use a nice robe and then match it with a gown from another company that isn't on Eden so that I can create my own "set". It isn't easy and it isn't fun and it is definitely motivating me to continue to lose weight.
So I find myself coming to Eden and buying the sets that some of our smaller members would never touch so that I can get one quality piece to add to my wardrobe while I either toss the second piece or put it in storage for "someday".
So for me, what others might consider a 1 star product, I am giving 3 stars because I was finally able to find a sexy robe in a color that looks good on me and isn't easy to find in my size.
Perhaps as I lose more weight, I will have better luck with the lingerie here on Eden.

I just love your reviews, but especially these lingerie reviews. I have been hesitant about buying the plus sized lingerie for exactly what your pictures show. Not only am I a 3x, but I have huge boobs and am taller than average. While you actually don't look bad in this, I am certain it would be HORRIBLE on me. I want to wear lingerie to feel better about myself, not worse. I applaud you for being so brave and "taking one for the team" so that us big gals don't buy these things and end up crying when we put them on! lol Seriously, you have inspired me. I have been hesitant about doing video reviews because of my size, but seeing how brave you are to put your sexy self out there for all of us to see makes me want me to do the same! Kudos to you!

You will want to google for the lingerie "Armourese" - I hope I have it spelled right. I'm taking photos tonight I hope and putting in a thread I started a few days ago in the lingerie forum.

Thanks for the review! While I haven't tried it with my set I realized while reading your review that since this material shouldn't be ironed maybe if you steam it while you're in the shower? That might get some of the wrinkles out. Like I said I haven't tried it but if ya wanna give it a shot. Sorry it didn't work out well for you either HNSTM

When I get a lingerie set I usually keep the robe and the chemise doesn't fit or fits weird and I just toss it in the closet. Eden has classifieds now, maybe you could put it up on there? It's hard finding lingerie because I'm a plus size girl too. I love the blue color though. Thanks for the review and pics!
