The thickness provided a superb experience, allowing for easy movement of the toy. It kept things moving and comfortable regardless of what the wife was putting into it. After a good amount of time, I honestly can't say how long, but it was a good bit, we did need to reapply some additional lube, not necessary but beneficial. The Tantus is a rather grippy silicone.
