Water + Slip, for Sensitive Skin

While I liked this lubricant, the fact that it "turned" quickly was a big con for me as I had only had it a couple months. If you're looking for something thin and for sensitive skin, I'd consider it. Those who want more cushion should look elsewhere.

Use

Aqua Sensitive is a lubricant from the Aqua line designed for sensitive skin. While I haven't tried the others, I see this as more of a streamlined version, without ingredients like Glycerin that can cause irritation for some. It's water-based and, as the name suggests, very very thin and runny. I imagine it would be good for sex (although my partner is overseas and I haven't tried it for such) but I would not choose it for anal as there is no cushion to it at all. The product, according to the back label, is ph-balanced, latex-friendly, dermatologist-tested and vegan, in addition to being glycerin and paraben free.

My bottle lists the following ingredients:

Water, Proplyene Glycol, Tocopheryl Acetate, Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe) Leaf Extract, Allantoin, Olea Europaea (Olive) Leaf Extract, Cellulose Gum, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Tetrasodium EDTA, Citric Acid, Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

Aqua Sensitive is very much like water. Drippy even. This stuff does not stay where you put it. It doesn't really feel sticky, but it can feel a bit greasy before it absorbs. It is certainly easy to dispense, though, and the pump applicator makes it easy to do one-handed and quickly.

Taste / Aroma

I don't remember mine having any scent at first, but now it has a strong smell, almost like artificial lemon. This doesn't seem to have affected the quality or consistency at all, and it has not caused me irritation but I've been using it less because of this change. Not sure if I got a bad bottle or what, as I've only had mine a couple months now. The icon on the bottle says it should be thrown out after 24 months. The pump top keeps it from being easily contaminated, so I suspect that I may have just got an off bottle, but I'm reluctant to buy a second one just to find out.

Performance

This lubricant is very watery, and as a result can be messy and drip in places you do not want it to go, as I quickly found out. However, cleanup is minimal (or non-existant if you let it fully dry). Longevity is decent for being water-based and so thin. If you want to be able to feel every detail of your partner or toys, this will allow you to do that. For this reason I liked it with my glass toys in particular, as it made them slicker without taking away from the feeling of the glass. Toys (or people, I suppose) that have more drag than glass will have that drag reduced but not completely gone, which could be a pro or con depending on your preferences.
    • Absorbs into skin nicely

Packaging

My bottle came in tear-off shrink-wrap and with no other instructions. The labels on the bottle indicate its purpose as a lubricant and its ingredients. It is not discrete, but I think that goes well with the Wicked brand and dark bottle. I like that the bottle is transparent enough to see the amount left very easily. Often dark bottles are too dark to really tell. While not discreet, the lockable pump top makes it a good choice for travel.

Semi-Transparent bottle:

AquaClear
    • Does not leak
    • Easy to use / dispense
    • Not discreet

Personal comments

My bottle is maybe 7/8ths full, so I'm very disappointed that the smell has changed so quickly. While the look and consistency of the bottle has remained the same, I am reluctant to use it just in case, since it smells like lemon candy now. I have a very delicate ecosystem and don't want to cause myself discomfort or irritation. If the smell had not changed dramatically, I would continue to use this product often, as I think it is a good lubricant with good ingredients and I like the packaging a lot.

Experience

I use this mostly for the insertion of kegel devices now, as I like the cushion of Sliquid Organics Gel more for actual play. I don't think the wateriness of Aqua Sensitive is a con, though, I think it's really just personal preference.
