System JO H2O lubricant is a water-based lube designed to help slick things up during sexual activity. It is compatible with all toys, suitable for every type of penetration, and can be used in any environment where you're not likely to come into contact with water (as it will cause the lube to stop functioning).

While many people prefer silicone-based lubes for anal penetration, this one is thick and long-lasting enough to be a decent substitute. It is not flavored, so while it is certainly functional as an oral lube it would not be my first choice.

This lubricant contains parabens and glycerin, so people who try to avoid these ingredients should steer clear.

This lube is very runny, and will spread as soon as it is poured from the bottle. It is slightly thicker than a massage oil, and feels very smooth and never sticky (even if you let it sit on toys/skin for extended periods of time).

If rubbed into skin, it absorbs slightly and leaves a thin residue, which is easily rinsed away with water. It is extremely easy to pour from the bottle - you don't have to squeeze it at all! It slides out smoothly and quickly, and a little goes a long way, especially with silicone toys. I did find that I needed slightly more for anal penetration, but other than that I rarely needed to re-apply it after I got going.

H2O is listed as unflavored and unscented, and pretty much fits the bill. I noticed a very slight sweet smell after use (this is likely due to the glucose), but no noticeable taste. It works well as an oral lube in terms of lubrication, but I really prefer the lubes I use for that purpose to have a pleasant taste.

This lube functioned really well during both anal and vaginal penetration. I did not need to re-apply t at all during vaginal sex (during sessions lasting about an hour), and reapplied every twenty minutes or so during anal. I love the thickness of H2O - most of my toy collection is silicone, and I was looking for a comparable water-based lube to use with plugs (as silicone lubricant cannot be used with silicone toys).

While I do wish it had a nice taste so I could use it more for oral, I can't fault it for that as it isn't marketed as having one, nor for being used for that purpose. It is disappointing that System Jo bothered adding glucose, an ingredient that many people try to avoid in lubes, in the formula but didn't bother to just add a flavor while they were at it, but it's still a great product that I've purchased many times and plan to purchase again.

H2Os packaging is a nice touch - it features a clear bottle with a black lid and a blue-and-silver label, completely gender neutral and void of any suggestive language or imagery. From a distance, it looks similar to a bottle of hand sanitizer, and will only betray its true purpose if the label is read (to do this you would have to actually pick up the bottle for any size other than 8 oz).

I have had no problems with the bottle leaking, and it is suitable for travel and recyclable. It's not flashy or elegant so I wouldn't recommend it for a gift alone, but it would be a great thoughtful addition to a gift basket.
