Tried and true, fallback lube.
This is a good all around lube if you aren't too worried about parabens/glycerin. It has great holding power and will stay put where you apply it, which is why it's trusted for medical applications. It also works great as an anal lube for this factor of staying put. It isn't perfect but it is inexpensive and gets the job done.

This is always my fallback lube and the lube I compare all others to. This is mostly as this is the first lube I got access to, but it's also a pretty well known standard of lube. It also seems commonly used in medical applications as well as sexual applications for lubrication. It also is really inexpensive for a good functional lube.
The best thing about this lube is it stays where you put it. Honestly, if it wasn't for the Parabens this would be my goto lube for all applications. But up to the point I started to worry about what KY was made of the fact it would stay where applied made this my go to lube for anal play. I have used KY over the years for use with my prostate massagers or anal play with SOs. It does a good job staying where you want it; however, as it does dry out quicker than some lubes you need to use a lot and apply it regularly to not have any issues.
I still stick with KY for external lube needs as I'm less worried about the chemicals being absorbed externally. As in I currently primarily use KY for masturbating. It works great with Fleshlights as stays inside and keeps all the internal textures lubed without leaking out of the opening.
It does dry quicker than some lubes, which is problematic for sure. And it gets sticky/unpleasant when it drys on you. This is can be distracting if you use this lube during sex as can alter the way your hands feel on your partner or the way your partner feels if the lube dried on them.
This is one of the only lubes I've experienced a burning sensation when using anally with a toy; however, considering how often I've used this lube with a toy anally this was an outlier. The times in question when this happened were a result more of me inserting a toy that was too large without adequate prep before hand. Lesson learned, take your time when doing anal play regardless of experience level.

I've started not using K-Y Jelly for internal use over concerns over some of the ingredients; however, for the time being it's still my go to lube for masturbation as it is inexpensive and lasts reasonably long for each application.
