I had never tried a flavored lube before and my original intention was to buy Shunga's non-flavored lube. But it was out of stock and I really wanted to buy some lube, so I decided to try their Toko Aroma Formula in Strawberries and Champagne. Now, I was a wee bit leery of flavored lubes because I've heard of a lot of them being awful tasting, especially in terms of aftertaste. Well, that wasn't a problem with this lube.
I immediately loved the smell. It does indeed remind me of strawberry champagne. Every time I open it I think of taking a whiff of a freshly opened bottle of champagne. The taste reminds me of a diet beverage, but I actually like diet beverages so it doesn't bother me. It loses that taste when it's mixed with my juices; then it's just a slightly sweet flavor. And there is no aftertaste. WIN!
Like some water-based lubes, it's thin and a bit on the runny side. I invariably spill it down the side of the bottle or I get too much in my hands. Thankfully, I've always got my Liberator Throe underneath me so I just wipe the excess on it. It works great with my natural lubrication, making for superbly slippery play. It lasts a long time and doesn't get sticky with use. Also, the smell lingers on your skin for a bit afterward.
I've used this only vaginally, so I have no opinion on how it works for anal.
A word of caution: It contains a paraben and glycerin, so you'll want to pass this by if those are irritants for you.
It comes in a plastic bottle (5.5 fl. oz.) with Shunga art showing through. It has a flip-top cap that you must press down firmly until it snaps into place. I once made the mistake of just pressing it down without that tell-tale snap and it was not secure.
Currently, it's the lube I use most often and I enjoy smelling it when I first apply it and as I'm playing. Because it's water-based it cleans off real easily, and I've not had any problems with irritation.
