Slimy Kitty!

With so many flaws to choose from, Slippery Kitty was an upset. I've had plenty of lubricants that simply didn't impress me, but Slippery Kitty actually done worse than disappoint. It left me with a sticky cooter, a clogged razor and an awful residue. The only good thing I can say about Slippery Kitty is that the slime creates enough of a slick surface for a ten minute session and it washes off super well.

Use

Slippery Kitty is a water based lubricant and since it is safe to use with all toys as well as condoms, you can pretty much do as you please with Slippery Kitty. Use the lubricant for toy play, caressing your precious bits, intercourse and more.

INGREDIENTS:
Water, Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Juice, Glycerin, PEG, Carboxymethyl Hydroxyethylcellulose, Sodium Benzoate, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E Acetate), Propylene Glycol, Tetrasodium EDTA, Dimethicone Copolyol, Methylparaben, and Imidizolidinyl Urea

Slippery Kitty prides itself on being natural yet it still contains parabens and glycerin which can irritate just as bad if not worse than non-natural ingredients.

As usual, I'm going to warn you to use with caution or not at all if you are sensitive/allergic to any of the ingredients listed.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

Slippery Kitty has a very slippery feel to it, just as the name states. It's unique. It feels unlike any lubricant I've used before. It's slick and feels similar to water and a bit natural. I describe it as being something between a runny silicone lubricant and the slimy feel of Aloe straight from the plant. It is somewhat gel-like. It has a slight silicone feel, but more slimy than anything. This very well could be because it contains aloe which is the reason I bought this.

Slippery Kitty is thin like water so it won't stay in place well. If I massage some onto my clitoris, it quickly introduces itself to my entire vulva! Slippery Kitty claims to be safe for internal use so this isn't a problem... I hope!

If you've ever used Toko Aroma, this is somewhat like that in consistency only quite a bit runnier and thinner.

The thing that turned me off most with Slippery Kitty was the stickyness. Once I felt the wonderful slick glide, I guess I jumped the gun and started expecting too much from it. It quickly becomes sticky and icky. However, I enjoy the first few minutes of it.

It's easy to pour. The bottle requires a gentle squeeze, but the product comes out just fine.

Taste / Aroma

I stuck my tongue right down in the bottle of Slippery Kitty and it tasted somewhat sweet, but not candy sweet. The taste does remind me of aloe straight from the plant. It's not bad and doesn't bother me or my partner during oral. However, it isn't edible so I don't recommend using it for that purpose, but kissing the area after it has absorbed isn't a problem.

This is non-scented, but it still has a smell. You know how non scented detergents and soaps still have a scent? This has a tiny one too. It smells just like a non scented shampoo to me. Neither the taste or smell is strong unless you were to turn the bottle up and take a swig!

Performance

Slippery Kitty's performance does not match its price. It will work to help dampen things, but the only thing that helps is the slimy feeling of it. Massaging this into my clitoral skin feels no different from cleaning myself with a liquid body wash except a body wash is thicker.

One of the problems with Slippery Kitty is the thinness. I don't think it's thick enough to provide enough wetness and it certainly won't be enough for ladies with severe vaginal dryness.

While I have a few "beefs" with Slippery Kitty, it cleans right off with a swipe of a wet washcloth and thank God for that! When Slippery Kitty starts to get sticky, Kendra starts to get pissed. (Sorry.)

When I first begin massaging Slippery Kitty onto my crotch, it feels nice. The slimy-ness of it creates a decent glide, but this will not replace your love for silicone lubricant. It seems like it's trying to imitate a silicone lubricant, but it only succeeds at being slimey.

The best way to describe this is a liquid body wash. Think of applying a thin body wash to your lady bits and massaging. It just isn't thick enough to feel right to me.

For intercourse, this will work fine if you have already created your natural lubricant. However, the stickyness begins in 10-20 minutes and you're better off applying more every few minutes or breaking out your trusty old lubricant which in my case happens to be Liquid Silk. You don't even want me to compare the two! OK, I will. Slippery Kitty might as well be water compared to Liquid Silk or Maxmimum. It simply won't come close. It's not thick enough for one. Two, it turns sticky and leaves a residue. Liquid Silk wouldn't dare treat a lady with such disrespect!

I recently reviewed Toko Organica and Toko Aroma. Organica is thicker and is slightly sticky. Slippery Kitty is pretty darn sticky, thinner than Aroma and leaves an awful residue that I can't ignore.

Instead of absorbing into the skin like I would expect, it dries on top leaving a layer of... crap! Most of this will disappear with a wet wash cloth, but nothing is more frustrating than having to stop and clean yourself due to stickyness.

For male masturbation, this won't hold up to more than several strokes before it turns into a sticky monster. It won't create the glide you need. I'd recommend Toko Aroma, Liquid Silk, Maximus or Toko Organica for that purpose.

You can forget using this internally with most toys. While glass will do fine with Slippery Kitty, TPR and silicone are not Slippery Kitty's B.F.F. and neither am I. It dries up so much quicker when I use silicone or TPR. I'm not sure why and this might just be my experience.

Packaging

Slippery Kitty comes in a simple, plastic 2 oz bottle with a snap lid. You can snap the lid open using one hand and giving a gentle squeeze, you'll see Slippery Kitty slippery right into your hands. Just be careful not to squeeze really hard!

The bottle is simple and certainly not as discrete as I thought. It doesn't have nude, trashy photos, but it has a picture of a womans eyes and a cat woman graphic thingy. It says "Slippery Kitty" on the front as well as "au naturel" and "safe on condoms, slippery on skin, sexy on you." Pretty discrete, I guess. Then you read the back. "The longer-lasting water-based silky-smooth condom-safe doctor-recommended stain-free sex lube." Dr. recommended does not always mean it is the best!.

It goes on giving you directions. "Open. Squeeze. Massage. Purr." Then it tells you that it's not a spermicide or contraceptive, is safe for vaginal use (hopefully since it *is* a lube!) It warns you against its slipperyness and using in the shower. You could slip. If you're going to use lubricant in the shower, you should try doing it in the bath instead of standing.

I have had Slippery Kitty for a year now and when I finally had enough of trying to use it a a lubricant, I bought a different kind and put this in my shower for other uses. Not the best idea! One of the kids spotted it and read the back. The next day while we were all in the car (including his friend from school) he proceeded to tell us all that I had something called Slippery Kitty in my shower and it says it's "used for down there!" So I have to advise you to keep this in a more hidden area than I did! However, you can always do what I did and tell them you use it for shaving. Still, if you worry about these things, keep it hidden somwhere. I would not hide it in a drawer because the bottle does leak if it's not upright.

It will store in a basket of products on top of it though. That's where I retired my bottle to, the very bottom! The size is travel friendly, but the leaky cap is not. Do not put this in a purse or bag because chances are, it will leak. If you must travel with it, you should put it in a zip-loc bag or pour some into a lockable travel container.

Personal comments

*Just a few other options I wanted to share*

If you're going to pay 9.00 for a lubricant, there are far better options that Slippery Kitty. I just cannot recommend it for lubrication purposes. You can even pick up a good sized bottle of Better Sex Essentials for only $11.00. I would spend the extra couple of dollars and get something better. If you like System Jo, you can pick up a small bottle for around the price of Slippery Kitty. Moist Lubricant has some great reviews and it is the same price of Slippery Kitty, plus you get a bigger bottle! The Toko Aroma lubricants I compared this to earlier are $9.00 for a 5.5 fl oz bottle! I'd definitely recommend spending that instead of the 9.99 on Slippery Kitty.

Intimate Organics and Sliquid is a bit pricier, but if you're looking for good ingredients, I would recommend looking into those rather than Slippery Kitty.

Experience

Unfortunately, my partner and I do not like Slippery Kitty. The reason I bought this was because the ingredient Aloe Barbendasis (aloe vera leaf juice) which has some amazing healing properties and is usually outstanding on the skin. I added it to my order of all of Sadie Allison's books and a stack of Tickle Kitty magnets. I was sadly, very un-impressed with the books and the lubricant. I had hoped this would be a great lubricant, but I feel like it peforms terribly poor and is hardly worth the price. It contains parabens which I don't have reactions to, but if I am going to use a paraben filled lube, it's going to be Liquid Silk quality. I feel like Slippery Kitty does little more than water or the slime inside of an aloe plant as a lubricant.

I think I tried harder with this lubricant than I have with any. I bought this over a year ago and unfortunately have no use for it. With many uses from toy play to intercourse to shaving, this never did impress me. I have to say, Slippery Kitty is not slippery, but slimy.

However, I did add this to bath water on multiple occasions just in hopes of helping with skin problems and dryness. For a product that contains Aloe leaf juice, I'm pretty surprised that it didn't do much for my skin. Even small amounts of Aloe leaf juice will improve my skin! This can soften it a little, but I really love adding a few drops of Toko Aroma to my bath water instead. It has showed results in my skin!

I also used Slippery Kitty for shaving. I had used baby oil before when shaving the lady bits and it helped with irritation and gave a closer shave, but this did nothing but clog my razor. I'm just all around disappointed in it.

I have heard such bad things about this product so far! Thanks for the review Kendra. I want some liquid silk now as it seems to be a favorite.

Oh yuck, I know how you feel. I went through a similar thing with Shunga's Togo Aqua lubricant. I love your ideas about using it as a body wash or a shaving cream, I think it would work for that lube too. Now I know to stay away from this stuff also.

I had tried this a month or so ago and I enjoyed it then. It has become sort of bothersome for me lately. The bottle has started leaking( boy am I glad I had it in a plastic bag) and lately it has been drying on the sticky side. After using it I have to go wash, no rolling over and going to sleep for either of us.Thanks for the great review.
