Slick and Sexy

This silicone lube is as basic as they come, and comes from Sliquid Organics, a brand I sincerely trust. For underwater sexscursions and anal play, this is my go-to lube. It doesn't absorb into my tissues, leaving me dry and needing more. It's everything I need, and nothing I don't.

Use

I just adore Sliquid Organics brand lubricants (Sliquid.com). They're a seriously trustworthy company who create products made by women, for women. Their ingredients are top-quality and almost always all-natural. As an avid consumer of Sliquid lubes I've found them to be the most reliable brand of lubricants on the market. That's saying alot!

This silicone lube is no different. It comes in a beautiful, rather discreet bottle that won't leak its precious contents. The lube is never sticky or greasy, and it mimics my natural lubrication. There's no odd smell or taste to the lube, and I know the vegan ingredients used here won't cause me to incur vaginal infections, as WAY too many lubes on the market today can and will.

This lube is compatible with latex and rubber, but will not play well with most silicone toys. Still, any top quality, platinum-cured silicone toys will not react negatively with this lube. Test it before you try it out and you'll be fine.

I use this lube for vaginal or anal play, but got it mostly for anal, as I wanted something I didn't need to reapply. Silicone doesn't absorb into the skin the way that waterbased lubes do, so for anal play this is really handy.

This waterproof lube is also perfect for shower, tub, pool or sea sex. Waterbased and natural lubrication washes away, making hot tub sex NOT so hot at all. With silicone lube, you'll be sexy and slick downstairs and can fuck for hours without worrying about the grating, dry feeling that underwater sex usually creates.

The ingredients list is as follows:

Dimethicone, also known as polydimethylsiloxane. This is used as a skin moisturizer commonly in beauty products, and is silicone oil. Its chemical properties have rendered it deemed inert, non-toxic, and non-flammable.
Dimethiconol, also a moisturizer, commonly used in skin and hair conditioners, as well as anti-aging serums. It is prized for its ability to fill in lines and wrinkles. It is FDA approved.
Cyclopentasiloxane, another silicone oil, is commonly used in haircare products to create a shiny, slick softness.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

This lube has the feeling of a very light oil, without the greasy, almost sticky after-feel of an oil. It is slick and thing, never stringy or sticky. I love how it stays on the skin for up to half an hour - plenty of time for play, and for natural lubrication to pick up and take over as well.

This pours out easily one very small (1cm wide) drop at a time. Two drops alone were used here on my hand - see how they spread so quickly and easily.

A mere two drops of the liquid poured onto my hand

A 'just-right' amount of slickness after a short rubbing. My skin stayed slick for thirty minutes.

I don't feel the need to wash this off after use, but if you need to use your hands quickly after using it, you may want to wipe or wash them off with soap and water.

Taste / Aroma

There is no taste or smell to this lube, which is great. Usually the presence of fragrances or flavors in lube means it's not going to be compatible with a vagina, and I'm going to end up with a yeast infection. Sliquid respects my right to a healthy vagina and leaves the bullshit out.

Performance

Why use silicone lube? To quote this article on Sliquid.com:

"Silicone molecules are smaller than water molecules, therefore, you stay a little more in-touch with what you're rubbing against and don't have as much padding; personal tastes dictate whether this is a good or bad thing. Because silicone isn't naturally occurring in the body, it doesn't absorb like water-based lube can; though you might think this is a bad thing, when you factor in that your body expels foreign substances, silicone lube is actually out of your system faster than you might think. Silicone is inert, which means it won't change your pH balance or react with your body's chemistry, a big plus if (like me) your body is just looking for an excuse for a yeast infection."

To reactivate this lube's slickening powers, reapplication is necessary. I didn't find reapplication necessary more than once in any time during my play sessions with it. It's very slick and long-lasting, honest truth.

I love using this for handjobs, as I'll never need to reapply it, and I can lick on the receiving member without getting yucky stuffs in my mouth.

Packaging

Sliquid Silver with a mouse, for scale

Back of bottle

I was pleasantly surprised to find that the packaging on this lube runs in line with the other Sliquid products I've bought, as opposed to the advertised bottle, which seemed a little childish to me. I really enjoy this alternative, artistic, fairly abstract labeling to that which is advertised currently on the EF product profile page.

The 4.2 oz, 125 ml bottle I purchased is standard in Sliquid lubes, and going to last me multiple years of use. The push-button cap allows for one-handed dispensing, and doesn't allow for leaks, when screwed on tightly. A slight squeeze and/or a slight inversion of the bottle and you're ready to go. The dainty size and the leakless bottle make Sliquid Silver totally travel-friendly.

One drawback of the design is the metallic safety seal - handy for keeping the liquid at bay during shipping, but a pain in the rear to open in the heat of the moment. Break it before your first time playing and you'll avoid that awkward moment of fumbling to get some lube to your thirsty parts.

Another drawback is the fact that lube gets all over the bottle when reapplying, or reaching for the bottle with lubed hands. It doesn't absorb or dry up on the bottle, and you'll have a lubey bottle. Still, the wetness doesn't attract dust or dirt, so it's not a big problem. It just makes the bottle slippery.

The bottle is also recyclable if your city accepts '1' category plastics.

My only complaint about the packaging is that for the price this is listed at, it should come in a larger bottle. Still, silicone lubricants are generally more expensive, and a little really does go a long way.
    • Can be opened with one hand
    • Easy to use / dispense

Personal comments

If you're new to lube or just wondering about its purpose, or which to choose for which kind of play, I invite you to read this article on Sliquid's website. It goes into detail about why lubricant is really important, including the fact that it provides a cushion between two moving surfaces and can prevent tearing which can lead to infections or worse health problems.

Very helpful review; however, I think that you are confused in calling the Sliquid brand "Sliquid Organics". While some Sliquid lubricants are organic, I don't believe that this one is. Apart from that, this is an incredibly helpful and comprehensive review. Thank you so much!

Outstanding review! I'm still undecided about which silicone lube to get, but this looks like a good one.
