Silky, But Not My Favorite

If you're looking for a vegan, body-safe, premium lubricant, you'll be very happy with Sliquid Organics Silk. If you're looking for a gel consistency, check out Sliquid Organics Gel instead.

Use

Because Sliquid Silk is organic, vegan, water-based, and paraben- and glycerin-free, you can use this lubricant for anything you like. Silicone toys? No problem. Vaginal sex? Great! I would not recommend it for anal because it's not a thick gel, but I have very little experience with anal. The formula is particularly great for anyone with sensitive skin, women who are prone to yeast infections, and vegan individuals.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

The Silk is thicker and creamier than the Sliquid Organics Original. It is not as thick as the Gel formula, though, but I found that I actually preferred the Silk. The one thing that I disliked about it was its white coloring - it actually sort of looks like semen. If you can get past that, the texture is very natural feeling, and stays slippery.

Taste / Aroma

There was very little discernable smell, and the taste, while not delicious, was nowhere near as bitter as some other lubricants. I would not suggest using this to make oral sex more pleasurable (for that, I would point you towards System JO and Intimate Organics flavored lubricants).

Performance

The Silk lasted a bit longer than I expected. We did have to reapply, but only after about 15 to 20 minutes. I have a hormonal IUD and am on another medication that can cause me to be on the dry side, so this is par for the course for me. I liked the texture considerably more than most of the other water based lubricants I've tried. If you're sensitive to glycerin or parabens, I think there are very few lubricants out there that match the Silk's performance (except for my personal favorite, the Intimate Organics Defense).
    • Absorbs into skin nicely
    • Allergy concerns
    • Feels natural

Packaging

The bottle is not necessarily discreet, but it is pretty. If you left it out, you might be able to get away with no one noticing it, perhaps mistaking it for a shower gel or a lotion. It looks very natural in the packaging, and the bottle is tinted so you can't see the pearly color of the lubricant. The top is a press top, and can be opened easily with one hand.
    • Can be opened with one hand
    • Discreet looking packaging
    • Easy to use / dispense

Personal comments

I would absolutely recommend Sliquid Organics Silk to anyone looking for a mid-thickness, all natural lubricant. Even if you've never tried an organic or natural lubricant before, I think you'll be happy with its performance.
