Organic/Natural Lube Showdown! Part 1- Sliquid Gel
While Sliquid Organics Gel is a serviceable water-based lube with the right ingredients for the organically-minded, the fact is that it's the most expensive of the lubes I tried and compared. Combined with it's lackluster performance and so-so thickness, I'd say spend your "green" elsewhere.

Pros
Safe for toys and condoms, Full of ingredients you want and free of the ones you don't, Organic
Cons
Pricey among organic options, Too thin for my liking, No sample pack or smaller size available
After using an older bottle of Doc Johnson's Ultra lube for a long while, before recently reading the ingredients list with horror and concern, I decided it was time to expand my water-based lubricant horizons into the organic or mostly organic. I ordered a sampler pack of Good Clean Love lubricants (1 oz each of their 3 flavors) directly from their website, and Sliquid Organics Gel, Sliquid Organics Naturals, and Lelo Personal Moisturizer from EF.
What follows is my review of Sliquid Organics Gel water-based lubricant. For the rest of the showdown, see my forthcoming reviews of the others.
I was thrilled to find out that Sliquid had an all-organic line of lubes, and that I could actually pronounce the ingredients list. When the name of an ingredient is scientific or chemical-sounding, they kindly include the common name as well, which I think is an example more companies should follow. As consumers, we deserve to know what's in the stuff we buy...but that's another discussion for another day. Suffice to say, the ingredient list (and more accurately, what isn't on it) is a major pro for this product.
I ordered two kinds, and when I opened the box my order came in, my eye was drawn to this bottle first. It's beautiful and classy looking. The pale purple watermark of the Sliquid flower makes it look very discreet, and any details about the product are in small enough print to not be very noticeable. Anyone who walks in the room and sees this on a table won't think twice about it. The bottle is recyclable plastic with a press-top lid, which I especially like for no-mess dispensing. I immediately picked up the bottle, screwed off the top, and pulled off the seal to see what it felt like. At first touch, it felt a little thin, but slippery enough to keep me intrigued. It smelled a little citrus-y and fresh to me, and I didn't mind it. I tried tasting a little, and I didn't taste anything at all.
When my fiance and I tried it while he was giving me a handjob, we were less impressed the first time. For starters, it was WAY too thin. It absorbed in what felt like 2 minutes or less, and he said something about how this lube "kinda sucks." We giggled a bit and reached for our regular lube, and we chalked it up to not working out for us. When I set the bottle back on the side table next to the bed, I accidentally put it into the Ember candle we had used earlier, so I had to wash it all up afterwards. It was a memorable night, but not in a good way.
The bottle stayed on the bathroom sink until I read another couple of reviews about how thick it was. I thought this was strange since we had thought it was about as thin as water. After further inspection, I tried shaking the bottle and putting a little on my fingers. To my surprise, it was a good bit thicker, with the consistency of thinner yogurt that's been mixed up. I resolved to give it another try.
The second time was better, though still not stellar. For vaginal lubrication, it worked about as well as the Good Clean Love unflavored lube we currently favor, and it wasn't as cold right out of the bottle. Even with my natural moisture, though, we reapplied once in the 15-20 minutes of play we had that night. It cleans up great with baby wipes, though, so that was also a plus.
All in all, while the experience was better, it still didn't live up to our expectations and needs for water-based lube. We'll certainly use the rest of the bottle, but I doubt we'll be buying more in the future.

Experience
If it seems thin, try shaking the bottle to mix the ingredients up a bit and to make it thicker. I think the water, cellulose, and aloe sometimes separate if the bottle sits for a while.
Follow-up commentary
2 months after original review
I've actually started liking this lube a lot more since my go-to, Good Clean Love, changed their formula and caused some issues. I reluctantly tried the Sliquid Organics gel again (after shaking the bottle), and surprisingly, I found that I liked it more. It's thicker than most of the others I tried, and if I could rate it again, I'd bump it up to 4 stars. With that said, I've had my eye on some of the rest of the Sliquid Organics line, and I can't wait for Sliquid Oceanics. I suppose the showdown will have to continue once I have a chance to try the other organic lubes.

Thanks for the review. I must remember to shake mine. Sliquid and their awesome/safe ingredients seem esp. ideal for gals and a bit of jilling off. As a guy, I was disappointed with mine in many instances, all due to its very quick absorption (mere seconds without plenty of water/fluid for activation). Not a fantastic all-around lube, but I think I'll keep some around for certain situations.
