Oral Sex Gel by Hall's

The Raspberry Kiss body gel is one of the more disappointing products I've tried by Kama Sutra. The flavor sounded promising and sweet, however it turned out to be very much like cough medicine. I like that the gel is allergy tested, paraben free, and made in the USA. I do not care for the horrid flavor and scent.

extremely useful review
I had the Kama Sutra Sensation body gel on my wish list for quite a while. I’m a fan of Kama Sutra products, though I don’t really have a need for more flavored lubricants. Regardless of the fact that I have several I rarely use, I ordered the body gel. I chose the raspberry kiss flavor.

The tube arrives packaged in a small cardboard box. It lists some basic information such as ingredients and a small description of the product. The pink plastic tube inside states all the same information. It contains 1.7 ounces of gel. Underneath the black plastic flip cap is a small safety seal removed prior to use. The body gel is allergy tested, stain free, gluten free, and paraben free. Kama Sutra states it is for external use only.

Ingredients:
Water, Sucrose, Glycerin, Alcohol Denat., Polysorbate 80, Flavor (Aroma), Carbomer, Menthol Lactate, Xanthan Gum, Sodium Hydroxide, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Saccharine, Red 33 (CI 17200), Blue 1 (CI 42090).

The only ingredients I really see reason for concern are sucrose and glycerin. Sucrose is sugar, which can cause infections if used in or around the vaginal opening. Glycerin can be irritating to some users, but not all. I suggest performing a spot test on your arm prior to use if you are unsure if glycerin will irritate your skin. The tingling and cooling sensations are provided by the menthol in the gel.

The gel itself is see-through pink. It has a similar consistency to hair gel. It is a bit thicker than most flavored lubricants but it is still runny enough to drip off of fingers if held upside down. It feels slick and slightly sticky, really about the same as other water-based lubricants. Simply wiping it off leaves a sticky residue, however washing or licking it off leaves skin feeling clean. While the gel is colored, it does not stain skin, clothing, or bedding.

As I stated above, I ordered the raspberry flavored gel. To me, it smells like menthol cough drops. It’s slightly fruity but smells more like menthol. It tastes mostly like menthol with just a hint of sweet fruitiness. The scent kind of hangs on skin when the gel has been licked off, but some soap and warm water will wash that away.

Once licked, your mouth will get a tingling sensation. The amount taken in will determine how much tingling you’ll feel. Just licking a little bit will cause your tongue to tingle; licking quite a bit may cause the rest of your mouth or throat to tingle as well. Depending on how sensitive the “lickee” is, they may feel some tingling on the body part the gel has been applied to. I personally could not feel any sensation on various parts of my body but my partner could feel some tingling when I applied the gel to him.

The body gel can be used for all kinds of oral play, not just oral sex. It can be applied to any external portion of the body like the nipples, neck, testicles, penis, or clitoris. I do not recommend using this in or around the vaginal opening because of the sugar and glycerin. It could cause an infection.

If you decide you don’t want this on your skin anymore, it does come off easily with soap and warm water. If any gets on bedding or clothing, spot cleaning or a run through a washing machine will remove the gel.

Kama Sutra’s body gel is a water-based lubricant so it is compatible with any toy. I don’t feel I would use it with any toy, especially those intended to be used in the vagina, since it’s a flavored lubricant. Getting a little bit on a toy won’t harm it, but I’d switch to regular water-based lube when bringing out toys.

Compared to my current favorite flavored lubricant by System JO, I’m not a fan of the Kama Sutra body gel. While this does offer tingling sensations through menthol, I don’t like how it smells and tastes. I definitely prefer when peppermint oil is used to create a tingling sensation. Menthol just reminds me too much of icky tasting cough drops. The scent of menthol is heavy enough to remind me of being sick, which is definitely a turn off.

If you’re looking for a good tasting flavored lube that creates a tingling sensation, I suggest looking for something with peppermint oil in it or something that is peppermint flavored. Peppermint tastes good and doesn’t have a gross sickly smell to it.
Experience
I purchased the Kama Sutra body gel specifically to use as a flavored lube for oral sex. Both my partner and myself tried it out a couple of times. I personally did not feel any tingling sensations and did not care for the flavor. He, on the other hand, felt mild sensations and didn't seem to mind the flavor. I did like the consistency, which is more gel-like than some flavored lubes, and how long it seemed to last while licking it off. I was only able to really stand the gel for a couple of tries, unfortunately. After that, I got sick and the heavy menthol flavor and scent just reminded me too much of being sick for me to want to be around it anymore.
