Not Just Another Water-Based Lube!
This product is great for those who have tried other lubes and found the chemicals irritating and short-lived although those who prefer flavoured lubes or those with stronger scents may be disappointed.

Pros
Paraben and glycerin-free; Pleasant scent; Easy clean-up
Cons
This would not be a good product for someone seeking a flavoured lube.
I've been on the receiving end of many disappointments when it comes to lube. Nothing ever worked for me. I'd had so many subpar experiences that I started to think it was a problem with me - not the lubes I was using. When I tried Hathor Aphrodisia lube, I wasn't expecting much - especially since it was a water-based lube which never seemed to work for me.
I was in for a surprise: a very pleasant one.
The first thing that I noticed about the lube was the consistency. I was starting to feel like the Goldilocks of lube; this one was too thick, this one was too thin, but when I squeezed some Hathor out onto my fingertips, I realized that it was just right. It was not too thin (which is surprising with a water-based lube) but not too thick. It was literally just right. A small amount of this stuff goes a long way, so there's no need to overdo it.
Unlike so many other lubes, Hathor doesn't try to "pretty it up" with artificial scents. I'm sorry, but the idea of strawberry-scented (or flavoured!) lube just doesn't do anything for me - especially since my nether regions tend to try and hide when anything too doctored up gets anywhere close. This lube is glycerin and paraben-free which is perfect for those of us with sensitivities to those particular chemicals. Instead, Hathor is composed of ginseng, jujuba, and (my personal favourite) horny goat weed (which is believed by many to be a natural aphrodisiac.)
In terms of odor (which is another major issue I have had with other lubes), this product has no chemical odor. I did detect a faint herbal scent (the closest I can come to describing it is patchouli; it is very pleasant and not at all "medicinal".)
One of the things I have found most irritating about other lubes I have tried is that they don't seem to last very long at all. I always find that I have to use a lot in order to get me through. Even silicone-based lubes, which are supposed to be longer-lasting, have never been any good to me. I was amazed that a small amount of Hathor managed to do the job; although it is water-based, there seems to be something in it that gives it staying power. I'm not sure what that is; all I know is that this stuff lasts which is a major plus in my book!
I found that the lube worked very well with all of my toys, and my collection is made up of various materials. Since it is water-based, I cannot foresee any adverse reactions with any particular material nor should it cause any allergic reactions to those who use it. In terms of cleanup, Hathor Aphrodisia is a snap to get rid of. Unlike silicone-based lubes, it doesn't take much effort to clean it off; simple soap and water will do the job.
I would recommend this lube to anyone who has chemical sensitivities; the absence of glycerin and paraben means that the risks of yeast infections and other health issues are dramatically reduced. All in all, this lube does exactly what it's supposed to without any of the bells and whistles that are all too often used by other lubes.

Follow-up commentary
3 months after original review
It's been two months since I first reviewed this product, and I'm still a huge fan. I think the most impressive thing is that even after two months (and plenty of use!) there is still half a bottle left. This lube goes a long, long way and still does its job remarkably well, with no unpleasant odour or residual stickiness. I would still recommend this lube to anyone!

Thank you for viewing Hathor Aphrodisia lubricant pure – water-based lubricant review page!
I found it too thin and that it didn't last long enough and one of the "herbs" sometimes causes me to burn, especially when used anally.
But, everyone is different in terms of what works for them.
Nice review.
I didn't mention any specific effects from the herbal infusions because, sadly, there were none. I was kind of expecting there to be, but other than the fact that the herbal ingredients gave the lube a more pleasant odor, they didn't seem to have any actual tactile effects (no tingling, for example.) Hope this helps!
