Liquid silk is a good lube for masturbation or for vaginal sex. I have tried it for anal toys and anal fingering, and it is a bit too viscous for that. However, for male masturbation, female masturbation, or vaginal sex, it does a wonderful job of decreasing friction while not being so slippery that sensation is lost. Since it is water based, it is compatible with all types of dildos and vibrators, which is very good to know.

It is water based, so I could not suggest using this in a wet environment, and its flavor and smell are a bit unappetizing, so I can't suggest it for use if the mouth will be coming into contact with parts this is smeared on.

The texture of the lube is thicker than other lubes I have tried and is a bit less slippery. It isn't tacky and doesn't get tacky if it dries out a little. "Liquid Silk" is actually a very good name. It's soft and slippery but not too much. I've had the experience in the past where lubes can be "too slippery" and sensation for me is kind of lost, but never with Liquid Silk. It's very creamy, almost like a watery frosting but without the grittiness.

The taste and smell are very chemical-like. I'm not particularly fond of either the taste or the smell of this lube, so I don't use it if my face is going to be close to whatever I'm using it on. Although I've said it's good for penis-in-vagina sex, since my general intercourse involves lots of cunnilingus, I tend to use something different unless I'm not feeling up to cunnilingus. I can't quite place what it tastes/smells like, but it's not the most pleasant thing to taste or smell. On the other hand, it's also not the least pleasant.

A little goes a long way with this lube, but perhaps not so much as with other lubes. A large bottle generally lasts me a few months. Using a squirt or two is enough for manual stimulation, and the same goes for vaginal use (whether with a penis or a dildo/vibrator). It can dry out if you allow applied areas to sit in open-air. For instance, if you're using it with a dildo and then stop and let the dildo sit out for a bit, it will dry off, but life can be brought back with a bit of re-application or with moisture (saliva works).

It's not necessary to wash it off, but I'm a bit of a clean freak, so I always shower or wash after using it. It washes off easily just with some water and a bit of scrubbing, but has a bit of a softening lotion-like effect on the skin. It's kind of pleasant in a way.

I love the fact that this lube is packaged with a pump. I will continue buying this lube if only for this reason. It's so much more convenient to use a pump than to fumble around with greasy/lube-covered hands trying to open a bottle or flip a cap and squeeze.
