I personally feel like there are so many more products out there for those who enjoy that warm sensation. To be perfectly honest, I don't ever enjoy the feeling of my lady bits heating up! I had been thinking about purchasing a cooling lubricant for ages, but none ever received good reviews. I was so excited when I seen this Hero Cool Blast up for grabs! I figured what better way to experiment than with an assignment?

Before I talk about the fun stuff I have to get all the boring stuff out of the way, so here ya go!
Hero is made by I-D Lubricants and this one in particular is water based. It is Glycerin & Paraben Free and produces a cooling sensation wherever you apply it. It is good for both males and females, and solo or with a big party! I personally tested this for masturbation, giving my partner hand jobs, during penis/vagina sex, and also anal sex! The bottle does say to avoid contact with ears so if that's your thing, I would strongly advise you not to use this lubricant.

Here is a list of the ingredients:
WATER / AQUA / EAU, BUTYLENE GLYCOL, CARBOXYMETHYLCELLULOSE, HYDROXYETHYLCELLULOSE, AMMONIUM ACRYLOYLDIMETHYLTAURATE/VP COPOLYMER, PEG-45M, CITRIC ACID, SODIUM BENZOATE.

As with any product used to enhance or provide sensation, it is possible for it to irritate you. If that does happen, obviously discontinue use and wash the area. It is compatible with condoms and all silicone toys since it is water based.

I think the texture of this lubricant is so perfect! It is not so thin that it automatically drips everywhere but not so thick that it's more like lotion.

As you can see, it doesn't exactly stay in place but I think if it was that thick, it wouldn't work well as a lubricant. I get just enough time to figure out what I'm doing with it before it decides it's going to run all over the place. The important part is that it stays where it should when in use! It's clear and silky, just the way I like it.

It feels wonderful once in use. I always have problems with my lubricant getting sticky and I was beyond excited when this didn't! At the point where a lubricant would normally get sticky, this one just kind of sunk into my skin. The only type of residue it left was a very slight oily feel. Honestly, it was no worse than a regular lotion feels. My partner and I usually like to shower after we recover but I didn't feel the need to. In fact, I noticed that at the time my partner starts the shower was right about the time he slipped his boxers back on and went to get a drink.

He is so OCD, so that is really the best way to judge if a lubricant is good or bad for us.

I adore the smell of my Hero lubricant! It smells like peppermint and lingers throughout sex or any other activities. It's just strong enough to smell but it isn't overpowering. I have a super sensitive sense of smell and this was really pleasant.

I never tasted it until I realized that I needed to for this review. I dabbed a little onto my finger and nervously licked it. Woah, it even cools my tongue! Taste? Nope, there really isn't any. I'm not sure how it would be with oral because I imagine a little more would be used, but in small quantities it passes the test.

We only had to apply Hero Cool Blast once and it lasted through out our entire session. As I mentioned earlier, we didn't feel the need to wash it off right away because it blended into our skin very nicely. The most obvious question you probably have, is did it cool? Yes it did! It was so perfect. I was nervous because when I worked at the adult store, I tested a lot of different cooling brands on the back of my hand. I never bought one because it never felt much different than the regular stuff. I would say this one is kind of strong but not overbearing. It doesn't feel as cold and uncomfortable as ice does. I've tried ice before and I'm never going back. The sensation of the lubricant really makes its presence known.

If you are the type to wash stuff off right after, then you won't have any problems. A little warm water and it's like it was never there.

I think the cooling sensation was most evident when using toys that hadn't been previously warmed up. It made my normal cool plastic vibrator feel very chilly. It is such a nice change, and with toys I never had to reapply. Don't worry about using this with your expensive silicone toys because it's water based! I squeezed 4 orgasms out before the sensation started to fade. It made my clitoris much more sensitive, which I know a lot of you girls would love!

I was very nervous about testing this during anal, but it was very nice. Obviously, it felt a little weird at first, especially because it was the first time we had ever successfully had anal sex. It was perfectly slick and made the first experience as comfortable as it could have been.

The lubricant didn't come in a box other than what Eden sent it to me in. It was just the bottle with the safety seal under the lid. It has a cute little super hero looking guy on the bottle with a light blue and white color scheme. The bottle is clear, and there is a city skyline sticker on the back so you can see straight through to the clear lubricant. The flip top cap makes it easy to pop open and close with one hand, especially if the other hand is occupied.


The instructions are pretty basic and straight forward. It says to add to genital area but I think you can use it on the nipples or even somewhere else on your skin so you can blow on it. It is really sexy; try it!


I haven't had any problems with the lid leaking and I have tossed it in a bag for over night stays. It says that it's lubricant, so it's really not discreet at all. I personally don't care though. It is a pretty decent size bottle at 4.4 ounces and the level of the liquid has hardly changed after 2 months of pretty regular use.

Obviously this lubricant is meant to add a cooling sensation. It does its job, so we both really enjoyed it, especially because we don't like any of the stuff that heats up. We both still feel relatively clean after we're done and are fine waiting a few hours to shower. I don't really have anything bad to say, except that after it soaks into your skin it feels the slightest bit oily.
