More Sticky than Silky

Probe Silky Light only lives up to its claims of feeling natural if you add water to it. Without adding water, it was unusable for us. I never knew a lubricant could be so sticky or dry so fast. In my opinion, if you want an organic lubricant, skip Probe and buy Sliquid instead.

Use

Probe Silky Light is a natural lubricant meant to be comparable to saliva. There is also a Thick Rich formula produced by Probe that is meant to be comparable to a woman's vaginal lubrication. This line includes no harsh chemicals and just three ingredients. Probe Silky Light is also pH-balanced, which helps to prevent bacterial infections. This lubricant is intended for both vaginal and anal sex. Being water-based, it is safe to use with condoms and all toy materials. Probe Silky Light is produced in the U.S. and Canada. It is not tested on animals.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

According to the company, Probe Silky Light is "designed to mimic human saliva & provide a silky, thin layer of lubrication for direct sensation of skin surfaces." Unfortunately, I am going to have to disagree with this claim. This is the stickiest lube that I have encountered. It is nothing like saliva. Saliva would actually have been much better. Immediately when you apply the lube, long and sticky strings hang between you and the container. Similar to the famous Jenna Jameson style blow-job, but much less appealing. The directions instruct you to apply a few drops of water to reactivate the product. However, you really have to apply water immediately after applying the product. This creates a much more natural feel. The last picture below shows water added, while the first two are immediately after applying.

Taste / Aroma

This lubricant has no added scents, flavor, or colors. It comes out clear. The natural odor and taste of this product is close to non-existent. Since there isn't any flavor, I don't see much benefit to using it for oral sex, but it is advertised as being safe to swallow.

Performance

Unfortunately, I have more bad news here. In addition to this lubricant being sticky, it didn't last either. For my partner and me, this lube dried-up in under 60 seconds. No, I'm really not exaggerating. We reapplied it and it dried up again almost just as quickly. Frustrated, my husband went to rinse it off. When he added water, it was as if the lubricant had suddenly come to life. It now felt nice and slippery. When we were done, it did rinse off fairly easily, with just a bit of rubbing. It comes off cleanly, without leaving behind any unpleasant residue.

Packaging

Probe Silky Light comes in a green container. Its sister product, Thick Rich, comes in orange. I purchased this product in the pillow pack, which is considered a sample size. You get 0.33oz/10mL, which is enough for about 2-4 sessions, depending on personal preference regarding how much you apply. The front of the pillow pack features the product name. The back has the directions and ingredients listed; they are the same for both products.

Directions:
Apply a small amount to the area to be lubricated. Add a few drops of water to reactivate lubricity.

Ingredients:
Purified Water, Vegetable Glycerin, Polyethylene Oxide, Grapefruit Seed Extract

•GLYCERIN - A sweet liquid derived from plants. It imparts a smooth, silky feel when PROBE® is spread over the skin and holds water close to moisturize skin.

•POLYETHYLENE OXIDE - A pure, edible, biologically-inert polymer. It provides a thick, sensuous feel to PROBE®. It holds immense amounts of water; gradually released upon rubbing.

•GRAPEFRUIT SEED EXTRACT - A bitter, botanically-complex fluid. In small amounts it preserves the physical qualities of PROBE® by inhibiting growth of micro-organisms.

Experience

I always like trying new things and I especially look forward to the organic products. I'm sad to be telling you all what a huge disappointment both the Probe lubes were for us. They were both so sticky and messy that it just ruined the mood. Then they dried so quickly that we could barely get him inside me fast enough. This just completely missed the mark for us. Isn't there a way to create a lube that's both enjoyable and organic? Oh yeah, its called Sliquid.
Follow-up commentary
I never tried this item a second time. I like that the ingredients are natural but the stickiness is over the top.
