Missed The Spot But Liked The Tingle

I was hoping this product would help light the way to my G-spot. It didn't do that, but the cooling tingle did feel great. My husband disagreed and said it burned him. I think it's worth giving a shot if you and your partner have used cooling lubes in the past with no issues. This product is longer lasting than most of those if the right amount is used.

Use

Spot On is a tingling G-spot gel that "stimulates and enhances sensation in all the right spots," according to the box. Essentially, it's a cream that is applied internally designed to stimulate the G-spot to enhance sexual experience. While it is for women, when used during sex it will cause a sensation for your partner as well.

Spot On isn't limited to partner play. You can apply this and use it with your favorite toy as well. Since it's a G-spot cream, G-spot toys are recommended.

This product can be used by just about anyone looking to add a some tingle to playtime. There's no experience requirement to use this.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

Have you ever used those straightening creams you can get for your hair? If you take one of those and make it just a tiny bit thicker, you have Spot On. I compared it to my Living Proof Straight Making Cream and it's almost the exact same consistency. The name says gel, but this is not even close to a gel. It's thicker than gel, more on the creamy side, and white in color - none of which says gel to me. It doesn't budge if I put it on my hand and flip it, but I guess gel doesn't either so they do have that in common. I tried to take a picture to give you an idea of the consistency:

There are pros and cons to this formulation. The downside is that application is messy and difficult. It really should have come packed with some type of applicator like you get in the Monistat packs. You have to get this in your vaginal canal and since it's thicker it wants to push back on your fingers instead of actually going inside. What happens is that you get some inside and glops of product get onto where your finger meets your hand. The good side is that once you get it where you want it, it doesn't go anywhere. This is good for the intended purpose of using during sex or masturbation when you don't want it leaking out or going all over the place.

The product that remained on my hand I was able to wipe off (mostly) with a rag, though it left a bit of residue. I was easily able to get what remained off with plain water. It only got sticky if I left it on my hand for extended periods.

If you have some of those lube applicators, I recommend using those instead of trying to apply this with your fingers. It will save you a lot of hassle and mess.

Taste / Aroma

So this product is advertised as "odorless" and "tasteless" and I cannot for the life of me figure out why. It smells very strongly of menthol to me (what with peppermint being one of the ingredients). I can hold the bottle about two and a half feet from me, open the cap, and smell the product. I really like the smell, so I don't understand why it's not marketed as pleasant smelling instead of odorless. On the other hand, when my husband smelled it he said it smelled like "Bengay for your pussy." I guess it's subjective because I didn't think it smelled at all like Bengay.

I decided I might as well test the "tasteless" claim as well and I really regretted doing this. While I found the smell quite lovely, the taste was awful. It seemed to tingle and numb my mouth at the same time while tasting like a really bad menthol cough drop. Yuck. I drank something really quick and didn't keep it in my mouth long enough to savor the taste to give you guys much more of a description than that. Sorry. Just don't put it in your mouth.

Performance

The performance of this product depends on what you were expecting from it. If your expecting it to stimulate your G-spot more so than other vaginal areas, you might find yourself disappointed. I didn't find that it suddenly tingled my G-spot in a way where I was able to locate it any more than usual. However, if you're looking for something to give an overall tingly and somewhat cooling sensation, you will likely be satisfied with this product.

The bottle says to use a "small amount," but that wasn't my personal experience. I tried a small amount and felt pretty much nothing. I tried about a quarter sized amount and that worked but lasted under ten minutes. When I used it with my husband, he accidentally squeezed out enough to cover half his finger and it lasted around twenty minutes. So the more you apply, the longer it will last. Be wary though, because the more you apply, the more intense the cooling/tingling will get. If you're very sensitive I would say start with a small amount and see how it goes before just going ahead with half the bottle or anything.

I was expecting cleanup to be awful given the thicker consistency of the product, but a little warm water and this product washed right off of me and all my toys.

Packaging

Spot On comes in a grey and aqua colored box that says "Spot On G-Spot Stimulating Gel." One side has the same in big letters while the other side has "G-spot stimulating gel" written in different languages and information for Doc Johnson's Twitter and Facebook pages. The back has a little blurb about what the product does, says to "apply a small amount to index finger and rub around the vaginal cavity," and lists the ingredients.

Inside the box is the bottle of cream, which is also aqua and grey. It says pretty much the exact same information as the box does minus the social networking info. If you lose the box, you'd be okay.

It's not nude person levels of indiscreet, but it does say "G spot" quite a few times all over the packaging. If someone looked at it from far away it might pass as a lotion, but the second they pick up the bottle they will know what it's for. If you have roommates or kids keep this in a drawer.

The lid locks up pretty tight from what I can tell, so I think you could safely throw this in a bag and not worry about leaking. I'm always a little iffy on this even with the best of lids so I'd still put it in a ziploc just in case.

Personal comments

Spot On is water based and will play nice with silicone toys. The ingredients are:

Water, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil, Propanedlol, Glycerin, Polyacrylamide, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, C13-14 Isoparaffin, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate, Menthyl Lactate, Laureth-7, PPG-26-Buteth, PEG-40, Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Propylene Glycol, Diazolldinyl Urea, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Red 33

Note that this product does contain Glycerin so those who are sensitive to this ingredient might want to avoid this product.

While this product didn't end up working for what I originally intended, I did like the way it felt more than I thought I would. It lasted longer than most lubes that claim to offer the same type of sensation. I'll go into it more in the experience section, but my husband did have sensitivity to this product, so it might not be compatible with everyone. It it fairly intense when applied heavily, so those who are sensitive to cooling lubes will want to avoid this product as well. However if you have enjoyed cooling lubes in the past but found them to be short lived, grab this up.

Experience

Since Spot On was called a G-spot gel, I guess part of me was hoping I would apply it and suddenly my G-spot would tingle or something would happen and a light would come on and I could say "There it is! To the left!" I have an incredibly hard to find G-spot so I'm always looking for things to help me hit it more easily.

While this product didn't do that, I did like the way it felt. It gave a nice cooling tingle that was very pleasurable and heightened both my solo sessions and sex with my husband. It felt like the good part of Icy Hot without the burn, if that makes sense. I found that if I just applied it and didn't insert anything I didn't really notice it that much but the second something anything went inside me the product burst to life.

I found this product (when applied in copious amounts) lasted far longer than tingling/cooling lubes I've tried, so bonus points for that.

So why only a three star rating if I enjoyed it so much? When I asked my husband how his experience was, sadly he did not have as rave a review as I did. His comment was that it felt good for about a minute and then started to burn him pretty badly. Not bad enough to stop and tell me so I could wash off, but I'm pretty sure he'd have to be literally on fire to stop having sex so I don't know if that particularly means anything. We likely won't be using this again as a couple since he didn't find it to be enjoyable.

It also loses a star for being incredibly messy to apply. I seriously considered pulling out some leftover Monistat applicators to get this cream in. It should really have come with these. I have some lube applicators and plan to try this with those for some solo sessions to see if that works better.

I'll probably reach for this sometimes, but since we can't use it as a couple as originally intended, it's kind of defeated its purpose. I'm also Glycerin sensitive, so that limits how often I can use this before I get a yeast infection to about once a month or so.
