KY Works for Us
I would recommend this product to those looking for a thick, water-based lube for anal pleasures. While it is not extraordinary, it is good quality for the money.

Pros
Thick, Smooth, Stays in place, Inexpensive
Cons
Glycerin, Parabens, No special features
Silicone lubricants are often the go-to choice for anal play. Well, what if you’re using a silicone toy and therefore can’t use a silicone lube? Enter KY Jelly. KY Jelly is a clear, thick, water based gel that is at its best when it comes to backdoor adventures. It works with toys of all materials and is also suitable for use with latex condoms. However, I will warn you that KY Jelly does contain glycerin and parabens, which may be irritating to some.
KY Jelly is made in the USA and Canada. It is the #1 doctor recommended brand of lubricant. It arrives packaged in a white box with the product name and details. The lubricant inside comes in a 4 oz. squeeze tube with a snapping cap. The snapping top opens easily and stays closed securely, making storing and cleaning a breeze. The product dispenses readily without creating a mess. You can layer it on thick, and it will stay put without running. It has a smooth, slippery texture that feels good against the skin. It does not become sticky or greasy but it will feel oily after use. Simply rinse it off with water; it cleans off quite easily. This product has no added scent or flavor. It does have a light odor and taste, but it is not repulsive if it should get in your mouth. I give it four stars instead of five since it has no special features such as scented, flavored, warming, cooling, etc.
Directions: Apply the desired amount of lubricant to your intimate areas, and reapply as needed. Snap cap closed after use. It may be applied to inside and outside of condom surface, and is compatible with latex condoms ONLY. Store at room temperature 68-77 F (20-25 C).
Uses: Provides personal lubrication to comfort dry intimate areas. Lubricates condoms and eases insertion of rectal thermometers, enemas and tampons.
Warnings: If irritation or discomfort occurs, discontinue use and consult a doctor. This product is not a contraceptive and does not contain a spermicide. Keep out of reach of children and away from eyes and ears. Do not use if quality seal on the opening of the tube is broken or missing.
Ingredients: Water, Glycerin, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Gluconolactone, Chlorhexidine Gluconate, Methylparaben, Sodium Hydroxide.

Experience
My partner and I primarily use this product for the insertion of anal toys. We are able to put a lot of it on and it will stay in place. We have also used KY Jelly vaginally. I do not have a particular problem with dryness, but sometimes during longer sessions I do need a little bit of help. KY has a natural, but thicker feeling for me, which I find very comfortable.
Follow-up commentary
5 months after original review
We still use this lubricant as our stand-by. It has no special features but it does its job well. We've used it vaginally as well as anally without any issues.
