K-Y Jelly is an Original: Not bad, but not fantastic!
K-Y Jelly is an average lubricant. While it has its benefits, particularly in the medical field, it is not the best product available. If you are the type of person who likes simple lubes, with no fragrance or special taste, and only needs a little bit, you should give it a try. Otherwise, check into a different product.
Published:
Pros
medical-related uses, no scent, water-based (so it's good for all toys)
Cons
sticky, thick, needs to be cleaned off afterwards
Follow-up commentary

I don't think there is anything inherently wrong with KY jelly, but there is nothing special about it either.
It is pretty sticky and thick, but some people may not have a problem with that. My biggest issue though is how slimy I felt after use; I immediately had to wash it off. If I didn't clean myself right away, the lube would dry up and leave weird clusters of goo.
List of ingredients:
Purified water, Glycerin, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Chlorhexidine Gluconate,
Gluconolactone, Methylparaben, Sodium Hydroxide.
This product is used for medical purposes and most doctors consider it safe to use. However, as you can see above, KY Jelly does contain parabens and glycerin. There are some people who avoid the use of these ingredients. Parabens have been linked to cancer (although, the chemical is not proven to cause cancer) and glycerin can cause UTIs for some people. The FDA has not found enough evidence to disallow the use of either ingredient. However, if you are concerned, there are many other lubricants on the market which are free of both parabens and glycerin.
