Just have a couple drinks first
Save your money, just give him a drink or two first if you want him to last a little longer, that way you are not both desensitized. It tastes and smells a little bad to me, but I am pretty sensitive to such things.

Smells, tastes bad, minimally works
I will start off by clarifying I am a woman, so obviously I used this on my husband. This is the "crema duramas" from Doc Johnsons. It is a "male genital desensitizer cream."This basically means it is suppposed to help in the prevention of premature ejaculation. The active ingredient in it is benzocaine 7.5% which is a fairly common topical anisthetic. It is a smooth, white cream that has the appearance and texture of a thin sunscreen.
It says it is odorless, but to me it smells a little like suncreen lotion (very mildly). It also says it is tasteless, which again I have to disagree with. It tastes a little bitter to me and it tasted bad enough to me that I rinsed out my mouth after trying it and would not want to give my husband a blow job if this was on him. It comes in a 1 oz container, and I think it might have maybe 15 uses or so in the bottle. Use is simple, you rub the cream on the head and shaft and it will slightly desensitize the area (and I do mean slightly).
They have the typical warnings on this, do not put it in your eyes, do not keep using if you get an itch or rash, if this product does not provide relief contact a doctor and keep out of reach of children. Also, they say to wash off after intercourse. For those of you who have sensitivities to some chemicals, here is what it contains: benzocaine, acrylates/C 10-30 alkyl acrylate crosspolymer, diazolidinyl urea, ethoxydiglycol, methylparaben, propanediol, propylparaben, triethanolamine, and water.
My husband compared it to about the same effect as having a couple drinks. (Not so many that it affects you so it is difficult to get hard, but enough where you are a little relaxed). He said if someone truly had issues with premature ejaculation, that it would probably not be enough to really make a difference.
Here is where I personally have an issue with this. I do not like the taste, so I do not want to perform oral on him while this is on him, and it is a desensitizing cream. This means when I put it on him and them put him inside of me, obviously some of the cream got all over me too. It desensitized not only him, but to an extent me too. The point of this is to make him last longer so she can have more pleasure right? Well that is not likely to happen if both of you are desensitized. I honestly think from his description of how it felt, that it numbed me more than it did him. Pointless, I had more trouble than usual orgasming, but he said it was about the same for him.
