After having a baby, being with my husband for six years, and going through various different types of hormonal changes and forms of birth control, I, like many women have found myself in need of a good, simple lubricant. A friend recommended Astroglide, and I hurried off to buy it. Unfortunately, I was to be very disappointed.

It doesn't last nearly long enough for one of our "Marathon" worthy sack sessions. It might work if you don't get irritated at having to reapply constantly, or the sticky mess you will wind up having to clean up, but the best use for this lube in my opinion is staying on the shelf collecting dust. It doesn't last for PIV sex, it certainly would not work for anal, but it may work for masturbation. Just about its only redeeming quality is that since it is water based it can be used with any toy.

The lube is pretty thick. It doesn't drip or run, it holds pretty good where ever you pour it, but spreads very well when you want it to. When you first pour the lube it feels smooth, almost silky, but when it starts to dry it leaves a sticky, tacky feeling, almost like the feeling of drying soap or glue. The container is easy to use, it just has a simple flip up snapping lid. Also, the lube is easy to pour, but I would have preferred a pump bottle which could prevent over-pouring.

The smell of this lube could be compared to the inside of a plastic water bottle. It's just a light smell, and I don't believe it would cause a problem for anyone. The taste is a bit stronger though. It's a sweet taste, that eventually dissipates into a sickly sweet chemical taste which left a horrible aftertaste on my mouth.

This lube lasted about fifteen minutes before turning tacky on me. It did re-moisten well with just a few extra drops of the lube, but then I had to reapply about every 10 minutes which made it very hard to keep and enjoy the mood with my husband. It also left a very sticky film on both of us, and we had to use soap and water to completely get the film off. Another thing I really hated about this lube is that it stained my sheets! I didn't think it would because of being water based, but sure enough, even after spot treating and washing my sheets, the Astroglide left very visible lighter areas on my sheets.
