Use

Pjur's Eros Original Bodyglide lubricant is one of the best lubes around in my humble opinion. This is due in part to the fact that its virtues are darn near endless, in terms of lube usage. A silicone lube, Bodyglide is neither particularly thin nor thick. Its viscosity is pretty close to perfect, in my experience. Because of that and its ability to make anything enter your body almost effortlessly, this lubricant is perfect for nearly every use imaginable, including, but not limited to: sex, anal sex, and non-silicone toys. Because it is a silicone lubricant, you absolutely do not want to ever use it with silicone toys, otherwise you might cause the toy irreparable damage and even destroy it for good, as silicone toys and silicone lubricants and completely incompatible.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

Bodyglide is a great lube because it feels great - silky, luxurious, and slick in just the right way and amount. As I mentioned earlier, it is, in my humble opinion, the perfect balance between thick and thin. It is just the tiniest bit oily, I suppose, but I think that's needed for activities like anal play and anal sex. Despite the hint of oiliness it is not greasy. One wipe of your hand on a towel or bedsheet and it's as good as new as it absorbs into the skin quickly, leaving behind no sticky residue and leaving your skin softer than before it came in contact with the lube. However, during sex or play, you may find that the hands become a tad bit slippery, especially if one goes overboard on the amount. Speaking of amount, barely any of this slick, slippery in all the right ways lubricant goes a really long way. Just a drop or two at most, even for anal activities, and you're good to go. Also, because of its viscosity, it is neither too thick for it to come out of the bottle easily nor is it so thin that it will spill all over the place (assuming you don't roll over on it, or the like). It is not at all sticky nor does it flake or get grody when dry. In fact, it literally seems to leave no residue at all after just a minute or so to dry. It's long-lasting and versatile. I can't imagine it not meeting anyone's lubrication needs. All in all, I find its texture, consistency, thickness, and viscosity all to be ideal.

Taste / Aroma

According to my nostrils, there is no smell or aroma of any kind to Bodyglide. They could be mistaken, however, since I'm not known for my sense of smell. However, regardless of how my senses measure up to yours, I'm fairly certain you won't smell anything in this lubricant at all and if you do, it'll be barely noticeable and not unpleasant. As for taste, while it's not meant to be ingested traditionally, it certainly has no unpleasant taste. In fact, my taste buds seem to think it's fairly well tasteless. Not only that, but it's also free of glycerine, l-arginine, petrochemicals, and parabens, making it a highly body-safe product.
    • No smell
    • No taste
    • Body-safe

Performance

As I've mentioned before, Pjur's Eros Original Bodyglide lubricant is a lube that should meet all your lubrication needs. It performs well in all situations in which one might use a lubricant, including anal play, anal sex, vaginal sex, and masturbation (as long as you are using non-silicone toys. Once again, I cannot stress how important it is NOT to use silicone lubes with silicone toys as the lubricant could possibly ruin your toy). It's velvet, smooth, glide-y (if that makes sense), and slick without being slippery. Its long-lasting and absorbs into the skin quickly and easily, leaving behind no residue or stickiness and leaving your skin softer than before having used the Bodyglide. It allows for enjoyable sexual encounters of all types, in all situations, with or without a partner. If you're in the market for a silicone lubricant, I cannot imagine a better-performing one than the Bodyglide.
    • Absorbs into skin nicely
    • Long lasting
    • Not compatible with all materials

Packaging

The Eros Original Bodyglide comes in a black, cylindrical bottle with a tiny hole that allows the lubricant to be dispensed. Printed on the bottle's front label are the words "Pjur Original Bodyglide" in large, bold, white letters against a black background with a yellow dot over the "J" in "Pjur." In medium letters, over the word "Bodyglide," it says "super concentrated." Below the word "Bodyglide," at the bottom of the strong, flexible plastic bottle is the amount in both milliliters and fluid ounces (100 and 3.4 in this case, respectively), as well as "Latex Safe" and "Made in Germany." On the back are the usual product spiel and specifications one would expect, including the ingredients (cyclopentasiloxane, dimethicone, dimethiconol) and, like on the front, the amount in milliliters and fluid ounces. This information is given in several languages - German, English, French, Spanish, and one more that I'm not entirely sure of (though it does seem to be another germanic language). English is the second language listed. Again, the lettering is white on a black background. Nowhere on the bottle does it state outright that it is a personal lubricant - rather, it describes itself as "personal lubrication for massage" (personally, not my first choice for a massage oil but it's definitely adequate in that department) that is "also designed for personal moisturizing and skin conditioning." Again, this would not be my first choice for a moisturizer or skin conditioner but it certainly is adequate, even if not amazeballs, in those particular area. And ya gotta love those euphemisms there - they make for much more discreet packaging. Here is the other pertinent information included on the back of the bottle - Bodyglide is dermatoligist-confimed to be skin compatible, allergy-free, long-lasting, oil-free, fat-free, water-free, non-pore blocking, contains no preservatives and is safe for daily use. It is latex-safe and will work as a latex conditioner (in fact, if we are to believe the packaging hype, an "excellent" one to boot)! It also claims that it "leaves your skin silky soft and smooth," will never dry out, and that it "enhances your personal pleasure." From my experience, I cannot refute any of these claims, only back them up. The packaging, while, of course, hyping up the product, does accurately portray its myriad of appealing traits. For once, this is one product that really does live up to its packaging's claims! It also includes simple, official directions for use - "apply to any of part of the body where extra moisture is needed." It does warn (and I will second this all the way) that only a couple of drops or so are generally needed for most uses. Trust me, a little goes a long, long way with the Eros Original Bodyglide super-concentrated silicone lubricant so err on the side of caution in terms of the amount you use. The cap, which is made of hard plastic, is also black (though a slightly shinier hue) and screws off. On mine, there is a sticker that says "Men's Fitness Rated #1," which can be easily removed if one desires to do so. The packaging is practical; guards against using too much and against spillage; is discreet, durable, and unlikely to get damaged in any way, assuming one takes proper care of it. I suggest storing in a cool, dry place and wiping it down as needed. In terms of appearance, I find the packaging to be quite pleasing to the eye and not obvious at all - discretion was obviously a factor in the design (in all honesty, you can pretty much leave this laying anywhere and unless the person viewing the bottle is familiar with the product, they'd never be the wiser to its actual use). The sleek, simple, stylish bottle is a pleasure to look at and not at all tacky in any way, as is sometimes the case with the packaging of products sexual in nature. All in all, there isn't much more one could as for in terms of packaging (except, perhaps, a pump-top, since that's my favorite method of lubricant-delivery, hehehe).
    • Discreet looking packaging
    • Easy to use / dispense
    • Very informative packaging

Special Features

Other than just being an all-around excellent lubricant that puts most others to shame, there are no "special" features to Pjur's Eros Original Bodyglide. It is not flavored, scented, nor does it stimulate the clit or g-spot. While being all function and no frills, don't let that fool you. The Bodyglide is among the best lubricants on the market at this time, in my humble opinion.
    • Fast-drying
    • Good for anal
    • Long-lasting

Personal comments

Over the years, I've tried dozens and dozens of lubricants in all three base categories (silicone, water-based, and oil) and I have to say that pjur's Eros Original Bodyglide is hands-down the best one I've ever used. The price tag is a bit steep, especially if you knew how pitiful my budget is, but I refuse to pay less for an inferior product. This lube is worth every precious penny. I am really in love with this lube, cannot say enough good things about it, would recommend it to a friend in a heartbeat, and can't think of anything else I could ask for in a silicone lubricant. I first tried Bodyglide about five years ago and though, over the years, I have strayed from the lubricant love of my life, time and again, I return to it and each time, fall in love with it a little more.
